TV Coverage of the Ashes

Postby Brodlach » Fri Mar 20, 2009 8:00 am

Does anyone know that is happening with the TV coverage of the Ashes this year? I think last ashes SBS did the first session then went "home" to channel nine for the last two. I am hoping the new One station might pick up the who lot.

I think Fox Sports have the main rights and SBS has complimentary rights.

last time sbs did an excellent job with the ashes. had dean jones and funky miller doing the pre game and lunch breaks whilst taking the u.k channel 4 feed. played everyday live and in full and gave it the credit the ashes deserve. One of SBS biggest ever ratings success stories so they went hard for them again and won

the only downside to SBS is that you miss the first session of play due to the Tour de France. they showed wickets and highlights during the bike race though. but they think the tour de france is more important
