Lets not stress about this one too much. Realistically, we were not going to get to the final this year anyway. Yes, the batting failed in this match, but it has been our strength recently. It is always going to hard batting last in a match where the result is contrived. Yes, we could have declared later and made it safer, but the way our batting has been going, why wouldn't you back your players in and have a crack at it.

I think the more pressing issue is our bowling attack, which really doesn't look capable of firing sides out.
Don't be scared. Now is not the time!

Choc did right thing. SACA's players need to understand that the game is not about survival, it is about winning. Only one way to learn and that is by having a go....I agree re bowling stocks. Without Tait it looks very very Grade cricketerish...nothing in stock either.

Well I think Choc did the right thing we had to play for outright points and and we couldn’t bat to long to have any chance of getting those points. The bloke who said they could have hit 600 needs to realise we also could have made 600. we were 3 wickets down. Speaking to my mate who is a state player he said the team no longer thinks about failing, they know that the small totals are behind them and they are capable of pushing/beating any other teams. How long has it been since the spuds have had people making regular runs and making consistent 300+ totals?

Our bowling is an obvious problem and has not helped us in gaining more points in the sheff shield. But the improvement is there.

Next game my team would look like:

Harris
Cooper
Klinger
Ferg
Kahn
Borgas
Christian
Manou
Cleary
Cullen
Wise
12th George

You celebrate every win RAB. Being a Westies fan you probably don't know this yet ha ha. You are playing our second eleven, a team that was absolutely pounded earlier in the week in the Franger fixture. With every win we get this season we will learn a lot. Another young fellow took great strides in this match. Make no mistake, when the Bushrangers start to fade away it will be the Blues who will pounce on the spoils.

my opinion you play the game to win and that means winning outright. sa only had one chance to do that and that was declare well behind new south wales first innings - manou and thornely wouldve discussed a rough outline of how they felt the match was going and what sort of target would be set and chased. boring batting draws are what turn people away from the game- if you huys are going to vent some anger at anyone it should be the grounsman for making a track that was clearly going to give the bowlers no real chance of getting a wicket.

also why is dan christian batting at 8 whilst manou is at 6? this makes no sense to me as by batting christian 8 they are placing far to much pressure on his bowling which whilst it is improving it still isnt perfect, by batting him at 6 h would feel like a genuine alrounder and would have the opportunity to score runs which would make him more confident with his bowling
