Just watching the cricket - Poms chasing 325 are 4/120. Murali has all 4 and looks like he could take all 10. Pieterson has just got out and they arent getting near hitting him!!!!

6 from 6 so far. Plunkett and Jones in. The pitch is as bad as it was last year when Warne smashed them apart. Only difference here is Sri Lanka are defending 325, we were only defending 125.

Unbelievable!!! Run out for the 8th wicket. Diving direct hit from square leg. Has ruined murali's chances of a 10 wicket innings haul!!!

I was at Adelaide Oval at that game between England and SL and I saw him chuck, even though the medical tests say that he doesn't. Those medical tests aren't done in the middle of an arena, under the pressure of balling to the worlds best players. He's got most of his wickets in the last 5 years against teams like Bangadesh and Zimbabwe. Still England lost. At least we Aussies can beat SL, both here and over in SL.

That is right BB - I still think he is a chucker too! Warne ripped apart the England team bowling fairly - Murali has done is chucking no balls.

No matter how many wickets Murali gets, Warne will always be the better bowler.

The main thing is that England lost to a team who has a threadbare batting lineup on their home deck. Bring on the Ashes...theirs with a bit of luck!

When England come out with the real thing and we beat them (hopefully), we should keep it here. Then whenever they win it again, say 'no, can't it's to fragile to travel'.

Murali, chucker end of story. ICC weak as piss change the rules to 15 degrees so he can be accomodated.....

Having said that I recken all orthodox spinners are cheats when they bowl the toppy and doosra (particularly the doosra)

You have to bend the elbow so you can get the wrist around, you can't tell me that when he was tired MAysie didn't throw the odd toppy.

Orthodox spinners have to "cheat" as at the top level now to just bowl an orthodox break and arm ball you are going to get caned. So you have to variations of a toppy and doosra to put doubt in the batsmans mind. FWIW I lnow they are teaching the chest on orthodox style (i.e. cheating method) at the CBCE now.

You should have heard McGrath and LAnger in 2004 when Murali wouldn't come to Austalia. Dyson had come into our rooms (NT CM XI) to discuss a declaration to set up the 4 day game prior to the 1st test once it had been sorted the convereation went like this:

Pidg "So what teh **** is happening is Murali coming over or not"
Dyson "Ah um I don't know, he is still making a decision, he hates the abuse he gets here",
Pidge, "Tell him if he doesn't come here he is as weak as piss, if you don't tell him next time I see him I will, The crowd is nothing you should see the shit Warnie puts up with when has to go to England"
JL " Dyso, it is not on, he should be here to make it fair dinkum [your side needs him] - mate you should hear the crap that Warnie puts up with, Sumo, fat bastard, who ate all the pies, his private life invasions by teh presss but he puts up with it, Murali is piss weak not coming here"
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Tassie - I think your comments are crap about Off (or orthodox) spinners needing to chuck their toppys and doosra?
Dan C had his doosra measured at the WACA where they assess all the spinners I.e Murali, Shoahib Malik etc and his offie measured 3 degrees of bend and his doosra 4 degrees. The legal limit is 15 degrees - so are u saying that 3 or 4 degrees is chucking? I agree that the current limits are accommodating of Murali, but I totally disagree with what you said about chucking the toppy and doosra. Id also like to know who you heard about the chest on teaching style from at the Cricket Academy. Cos its a load of rubbish.

Talking of players being accomodated, to me Harbajan Singh and Johan Botha have identical actions yet one is allowed to play first class cricket and the other isn't.

NT cricket DO doing his level 3 at the CBCE, they went through chest on orthodox delivery and how the doosra is bowled.

hey it in the laws of cricket now so they teach it if the players want to adopt it or add it to their variations it is up to them.

I'll illucidate more on my orthodox spinners chucking theory. My point is you can't tell me that after bowling 40 odd overs in a day and a half that there hasn't been Australian orthodox spinners who at times hasn't "put a bit more elbow into" a toppy or doosra.

Hey batsmen get tired after batting all day and that is when they get out through poor technique

It is only natural for technique to break down in the field (rather than the controlled environemnet of the UWA Biomechanics lab) when fatigue sets in and that is when Australians in the past have bowled it.

While I may sound biased, I am in know way suggesting Australians orthodox spinners have techniques as diabolical as Murali but it is niave to think that they haven't "chucked the ocacasional ball in the past - particularly on the subcontinant in the last session of a "typical stinging **** hot day in Bombay" after being in the field since mid afternoon the previous day......

Hey even Murali passed the old laws in the lab five years ago.....

I disagree - after 40 overs or 4 overs, you dont change your arm angle to an extent where it can be considered chucking. I dont totally disagree with the doosra action being slightly different, but definately not the toppy. As I said 3 or 4 degrees - is it a throw? I think you will find, fast bowlers bowling bouncers bend their elbow more than a typical offie bowling a doosra!
