Well the Get Smart reference would be due to Jewell getting out for 99 thanks to a gem from S.Clark.

Gun batsman Siddle just got run out at the non-strikers end.
What the hell was he thinking back up so far in this kind of situation? What a fool.

Only 3 wickets from victory.

One wicket to go. The Vics need the small matter of 309 runs in 38.5 overs to win the Shield.

Quality post mal. I also rate the Fox cricket commentators but don't share your enthusiasim for Mark Waugh who has 'I' disease (might have caught it of Ian Chappell).

I was fortunate enough to play in 3 grand finals and WYC won the lot (one with Booney about a decade ago now  ). In every one of those games though we scored a low total and it took a total team effort to get us over the line. In the last flag I played in I was skipper (sound like Mark Waugh now) and after the match we went into the change rooms with a cold esky full of beers and the match ball floating in it. Then we belted out the rauncy 'WESTERN YOUTH RANGER' before some bar5tard poured the icy water all over me in an improvised 'Gatorade' bath. I knew back then that you had to celebrate every flag as it was your last and I only played one more match for WYC after that day.

Ah the memories come flooding back mally! I think you actually played a bit more against Booney than myself though. 6 Grannies for one win? How many against WYC?

I've been lucky enough to win an A grade cricket final.
In teh next couple of days I'll post a photo which really shows what it means.

Greg Blewett - the best commentator in the Australian game.
Relevant, well spoken, not too cocky.

Agreed on THE MOMENT Mal, that should sit a few of the 'Egotistical' MacGill haters on their arse a bit.

Well done Doggy. I wasn't good enough to play in the A's. The only game I did play was against mally's mob when a bloke called Tait (not Shaun thank ****) got me lb with one that kept low for a nice round figure. Back to the B's for you REB.

Rod, I know the feelings you are talking about. Took me 26 years to be part of an A Grade Premiership at West Torrens. We lost 10 Grand Finals on the way through to that. I know I am only a scorer but being there day in, day out gives you some experience of the emotions you guys feel.

Don't say "only a scorer". Don't underestimate your value to not only the side but the club as a whole. Too often people fail to recognise people who put in the effort like you have. Clubs don't exist and players can't play if there aren't people who do these jobs. You have every right to share the celebrations when you finally got there. It's not just 11 players that win a premiership it's everyone who has contributed to the club.

In the side i played in that lost there was one guy who played in his eleventh GF for his eleventh loss. Just goes to show it is not easy to win one of the bastards :(

Thanks for that, Rod. It put a smile on my face and I do agree that I played a part, albeit minor, in the effort required for the premiership. It would be nice for that guy to experience at least one premiership. He sure would have deserved that. That being said, I believe the feeling you get from winning a premiership is even more special if you have not tasted success for a number of years. You sure tend to realise how special the premiership is then!

Cheers
