abandoned games what happens ?

what happens with cases like the last 2 odi's who as you know were washed out after some play in them regarding runs, wickets etc does it go onto the record of the bowler & the batsmen ?

i would think if they play a test match & the last 2 days were a wash out the figures from the first 3 days would be included in the players record & the game obviously would be a draw but as i said what happens in the odi's ?

As far as i know if a match is abandoned nothing is recorded on the players stats. it is not recorded as a game. So for Lee the other night the 5 wickets he took are not recorded on his stats. they officially didn't happen

Both teams get 2 points and i am pretty sure all those scores and bowling figures are recorded and kept as stats for those players.

Last night was Gambhir 3rd ODI hundred and that will be recorded as such i believe.

was checking on cricket info and despite both games having no result, each team was awarded 2 points.
also brett lee's 5/27 appears on his odi profile as does gambhir's century

These matches are recorded in the captain's stats that are often shown on televised games as 'NR' or 'No result.'

I heard a story from Ian Chappell (on ch 9) one day where he said that if a batsman retires hurt and doesn't return, or a batsman does not bat due to illness or injury, those stats are recorded as as if he was out for that score. Can someone confirm?

I can't think of an example, but if a batsman retires hurt, they are considered retired- not out, as they can bat again. If they don't return to bat, I'd assume they are still not out...
Having said that, Ian Chappell would probably have a better idea than me...
