Australia's record opening stand against Bangladesh (14 runs - Cairns 2003) remains intact!

Also 2/43, ponting is out and remember that we are playing 5 bowlers, so really we are a batsman down.

3/50!

Are we heading towards a massive upset?
Are the Bangers Australia's bogey side?

Plenty of time to go of course...

Gilly is due for a ton.

Warney would like to get a 100 - even against this supposed non-Test nation.

We are in some trouble here folks!

There are plenty of positives here. Be thankful this has happened now and not in the First Test of the upcoming Ashes Series. I have been disgusted in the attitude of the Aussies towards this tour. Ponting stating that Bangladesh shouldn't be a Test nation .. I wish Ponting would stop making stupid comments and start thinking more about his abominable captaincy.

The arrogance of going into this Test with only 5 specialist batsmen considering the batting line up is in disarray is amazing. This meant elevating Hussey from his match winning 5 position up to open, an out of form Gilchrist at 6, and 7 is far to high in the order for Shane Warne. They picked 5 specialist bowlers, an absolute luxury considering MacGill wasn't brought on to bowl his 1st over until the score was 1/204.

Ponting appears to be devoid of tactical thought. I would like to see the ACB hold a forum inviting Ian Chappell, Mark Taylor, Steve Waugh and Allan Border, along with Ricky Ponting. They could explain to him the basics of captaincy that he lacks, things such as field placements, use of bowlers, when to win the toss and bat and when to send opposition teams in, etc .. the agenda would be a long one.

It's okay to point at a 5-0 drubbing of South Africa and think things are travelling smoothly but they are not. This team needs to get its act together very quickly or we will suffer the futher embarrassment of an Ashes deafeat in Australia, the first for 20 years. This Test hasn't been good, but in a way it was just waiting to happen.
