STEYN AFRICA V WEST INDIES 20/20 GAME

Postby mal » Tue Dec 18, 2007 9:16 am

This game was reduced to 13 overs a side
What an amazing game
SA batted first
1-5
2-5
3-5
4-5
5-10
6-12
7-22
8-37
then a partnership of 21 to reserrect the innings
BOTHA 28*[21]
STEYN 1* [1]
SA 8/58
the 58 I think is the lowest score in a 20/20 International game [but should not count : 13 overs]

WI had a simple task and started brilliantly
1/32 of 3 overs
enter Dale einSSSSSTEYN
2/32 SMITH...... B STEYN
3/39 MORTON.... B STEYN
4/41 SAMUELS ...B STEYN
5-41 BRAVO.......B STEYN
4 top order batsman bowled, 3 with yorkers , and 1 with a slower ball.
The 3 yorkers were the best Ive ever seen.
Dale was then spelled and WI recovered.
WI 5/60

SSSSSSSTEYN 3 OVERS 4/9
He is CURRENTLY the most destructive fast bowler in the world.
On SA pitches he is almost unplayable.
If he performs overseas like this he must be the Number 1 ranked fast bowler in the world.

Waqar was good as well.
These yorkers STEYN bowled were against top order batsman.

The quality of the WI batting is very questionable..
Could he knock over Haydos, Punter, Huss etc etc that easy...
I saw Steyn bowl in a ODI at Telstra Dome a few years ago and Jaques took him apart.
I acknowledge that he has improved a hell of alot..

he would be a fair chance i reckon- they were fantastic yorkers at pace. Seeing hayden v tait in the recent ford ranger cup game reminds us our aussie batsmen are mortal when facing quality pace bowling IMO

Adcock would take him apart and get that all off of his bowling, must admit, this guy looks bloody awesome, like to see how he will perform on pitches in Aust and Eng but looks like he has it all, till Bracewell stuffs him up and calls him a chucker
