ODI Tri-Series scrapped

Postby Hondo » Tue Dec 04, 2007 9:25 am

Reported on the radio that Cricket Australia has announced that the traditional ODI tri-series will be scrapped for 2008-09 in favour of separate series against each touring nation.

As I said in the other thread with the poll - personally I think this is the right move as the tri-series format had become very tired. Someone off the top of my head tell me who played in the last 4 tri-series???

I liked it because the series wasn't over until the last game. How many recent series can claim that. If there are two seperate series, does that mean Adelaide will get two one dayers?

I am extremley interested to see how this year's summer plan works with Adelaide getting its Australia day Test and speading out the international summer throughtout the country's cricket season. While they have the axe sharpened give NZ cricket a call to give this pointless trophy the arse too.

This means that South Africa will now tour in late jan/early feb as they want their own boxing day test match
