Do you really think this will fix SA cricket? It may help but there is plenty more problems.

Yes you do need B,C,D grade at district level.

Jason Borgas made 600 odd runs before xmas last season and performed admirably at the end of last season how ever he needs to lift performances if he is to continue to play 1st class cricket

Ferguson is 22 and while he was incredibly pathetic last season, you would assume the only way is up. But maybe you’re right, that kind of form doesn’t exactly warrant selection. But as soon as he starts finding some form get him in because like it or not he is the future.

yes but there is one slight problem Callum is under double the pressure in grade cricket. one to get his state spot back and two to carry the entire Prospect batting line up as their best bat.

If he can't cope with the pressure at Grade level, what chance does he have at first class level? I don't think that can be an excuse. Anyway, he had his best grade season for Prospect last year, when Prospect were at their worst.

His A-Grade career average for Prospect is 22.98 (1471 runs in 64 completed innings) with only 2 centuries. There are many players in District cricket with better averages (including Manou and Ryan Harris!)

Good idea.

11 debutants to play would send a message to the players. The result won't be any worse.

Adcock is a bit of a dead fish batting at 7. Is he there as an all rounder? He only bowled 1 ball in the first innings, and 6 overs in the second. Is he there as a batsman? He comes in after Manou, so you'd hope not. You cant play Adcock, Cullen and Bailey in the same team. Adding Boof, its two frontline spinners and two part timers, too many on a seamers pitch at the Adelaide Oval.

He's only there as he is captain, and watching his bowling choices and field placements in the first innings, he doesn't seem a good one. What is it with South Australian captains love affair witth starting after lunch or tea with the spinners bowling and the fielders all on the boundary? How about attacking a bit and trying to take a wicket rather than blindly hoping that the batsmen will get themselves out.

Seeing as Adcock began is Grade Cricket with Sturt I am not surprised at this ring it up and bore the batsmen out

This is a very short term view.
I don't see how reducing the amount of players playing the game will increase SA's standard long term.
For every one I miss I am closer to a hole in one.

The talent wont be spread as thinly. There wont be as many players playing A Grade District cricket that aren't up to that standard. I think it make sense, no short term fix, but long term could help things.
