Shane Warne has been involved in the Most Successful Bowler/Fielder Combinations 4 times - 29 occasions of 20 or more (Equal most with Muralitharan) All of Warnes' combos are in the top 10:
1st Mark Taylor - 51 catches off Warne
5th Mark waugh - 39
7th Ricky Ponting - 34
8th Matthew Hayden - 33

Warne has also been in the top 29 as a fielder
11th Glenn McGrath (Bowler) 29 catches to Warne

Adam Gilchrist has been involved in the Most Successful Bowler/Wicketkeeper Combinations 4 times - 33 records of 35 or more (Equal most with Ian Healy and Mark Boucher)

Glenn McGrath has bowled 850.5 less overs than Muttiah Muralitharan, and only 42 wickets less (Though traditionally it is easier to take wickets as a pace bowler) To put this in another view, McGrath has bowled 459.2 overs more than Lance Gibbs and has taken 233 wickets more.

In the very first Test match, Charles Bannerman produced a record that has since not been broken - making the highest % of a completed innings total. His retired hurt score of 165 out of 245 as a percentage is 67.35. Michael Slater has come the closest - At the SCG, 1998/99 vs England, he scored 123 out of 184 - 66.85%.

There have been 40 cases of both openers being dismissed for a duck. The latest is Marcus Trescothick and Andrew Strauss vs. Pakistan at Faisalabad, 2005/06.

Four players have recorded four pairs. McGrath is not one of them! (He has 3)
They are: Courtney Walsh, Mervyn Dillon, Bhagwat Chandrasekhar and Marvan Attapattu.

Tony Greig and Ricky Ponting share a record - Most Catches in a 3 Test Match series - 11.

The most runs scored in a Team innings without the wicketkeeper conceding a by is 3 declared for 713 by Tatenda Taibu vs. Sri Lanka, 2003/04.

******* hard for the 'keeper to conceed a bye when the ball doesn't beat the bat!!
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Mike atherton played more tests against aus and wi than any other countries and was an opening batsman so those stats are not as big a deal as they may seem
