The South Africans - Are they as good as the mouth of Smith?

Postby stan » Sun Dec 04, 2005 11:44 am

Well are they? im aware that they have some good fast men there, Nitini has improved a fair bit and Nel is considered and fierce competitor. Again lacking the spin option bit with the old fella pollock there as well the attack looks good.

Batting wise, some good players there. Smith can bat, good player, slightly loose mouth. Kallis, Gibbs and AB are all pretty good guys with the bat.

But can they unsettle us?
Are they good enough?
Does smith talk alot of shit?
Is his girl hot?

Some interesting questions to keep you all going :)

Smithy reckons he can beat us because he watched 'vary cleseley' what happened in England. He may have noticed that in England our batsmen got cleaned up by reverse swing by guys bowling in their home conditions. Who is it exactly that the Self Efricans have that will apply the reverse swing, and do they have the peppermints handy? So far only Brett Lee has even come close to swinging it Irish in Australia and I can't see it happening at the WACA.

The attack looks handy you say? Ntini and Pollock have been out here before. Pollock got one bag for the whole series but was otherwise blunted. They have Nicky Boje as their spin option. Pfffffffft. Nicky Boje!! LMAO. Punter must be 5hitting himself. The batting looks strong but once you get Herschelle, Smith and Kallis out there's not much left in the kitchen. Rudolph averages 38, and that's after starting off with a double century against Bangladesh. De Velliers has not played in Australia yet, Boucher is handy but is not Gilchrist, against McGrath, Lee, Warne and McGill he would probably not even be a Jones.

Smith has already fallen for the sucker punch by opening his big gob. Telling us all that the Self Efricans will relish the 'intimidation factor'. Now to me that sounds like an admission that they ARE intimidated..something that will not be lost on players such as Hayden, Ponting, Gilchrist and McGrath. This will be a top series and the best thing about it will be watching Smith's oversized head hanging lower and lower as follows the unsuccessful footsteps of unillustrious predecessors.

Australia 2-0 and thank you for the rabbits.

regards,

REB
