EG 5/553 DEC
WI 437
EG 8/284 DEC
WI 0/7

WI need a further 394 to win

PANESAR took 6/129 GILES is seething
PANESAR 5 LBWs hmn....

EG chasing quick runs 2nd dig
PIETERSON 106 top scorer [average this series now 66]
PRIOR 21[9] Ist over he faced off Bravo hit x4x66

HOGGARD injured so EG possibly a bowler short

Draw is likely if Monty is kept at bay.

KEVIN BLOODY PIETERSON
-------------------------------

Became the 5th pom to get a 100 this test [Strauss/Shah didnt  ]
Holding says he should play off the back foot and finish the tours of Australia
Is the best in front of the wicket batsman in the world
KP in a press column said hes sick of o/d cricket and wants to play himself in [and did]
Off drove a ball that nearly broke Bravos left hand
Got into a verbal bashing with Gayle most of the innings
Twice hit Gayle with his bat[pushed bat into his back, and tapped his calf , nothing MALicious]
Gayle trips KP as well
KP 3 times tells Gayle " Youre making me cross."
KP backing away, dancing down the pitch at the quicker bowlers, typical belligerent self

KP DISMISSAL

Got into postion to reverse sweep perennial straight breaker GAYLE and GAYLE stopped
Does reverse sweep the next ball and misses looked OUT LBW
Next over facing GAYLE again attempts to reverse sweep...missess...OUT LBW
ANOTHER KP IRrebSPONSIBLE dismissal in test cricket
BUT scored 132 runs in this test batting like a spastic [and MUST bat like this]

Long Live KP

Is good but not the best, Dravid, Jayawardne, Hayden, Ponting all have claims....

Watching last night how he closes his stance when advancing so he inside edges a lot of his drives especially when advancing down the crease....Arguably comes to the fact his first movement is a forward press then goes forward (i.e commits himself to teh fron foot most of teh time. He's good on teh off side and straightish not good through teh on side

It is not because I'm biased towards Australia - i try to risee that - but seriously Ponting is the best batsman in the world front and back foot - Dravid, Jayawardne, Pietersen and Hayden come after him (in no particular order).

I admire your Man-Love for him Mal but he's not the best front foot player - good but not the best.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

PONTING best back foot
HAYDEN /PIETERSON about equal front foot overall
I just think that against very good bowlers KP is a bit better than MH
MH is slightly better than KP against mediocre bowling

Lets rephrase the topic TAS
KP + MH are the most brutal in front of the wicket batters in the world

One thing for sure Tassie he is probably the most effective unorthodox
batsman since Ian Botham to play for England

After 25 test matches KP has scored 2448 runs. This puts him second on the all time list, behind only Sir Donald Bradman, not a bad place to sit.
