Nathan McCullum wasnt able to play for the Sydney Sixers last night, so he took his frustration out on the Northern Knights bowlers in a List A game in NZ, scoring 90 off 43 balls (3 fours and 7 sixes), then took 2 for 37 off 10 as his Otago Volts won by five runs

Any reason he couldn't play for the sixers?

Can't remember if I have written or anyone else has, but Luke Ronchi is moving to NZ next year to play first class cricket in a bid to play cricket for New Zealand since he was born there. As he played for Aus in Jan 2009, he can't play for NZ until Jan 2009

Former New Zealand captain Martin Crowe had been diagnosed with lymphoma, a type of cancer. The diagnosis, New Zealand newspapers reported on Monday, was "very new" and Crowe's family was still coming to terms with it. No details have as yet been released of how serious or at what stage the cancer is.

Jesse Ryder announced his return to competitive cricket with an unbeaten and aggressive half-century on the second day of Wellington's Plunket Shield match against Central Districts - his first match since May when he played in the IPL. Ryder, who spent the last few months away from cricket, was the top scorer with an 83-ball 84

In March this year, Ryder had pulled out of the Wellington squad and had decided to take an indefinite break from cricket to resolve personal issues.
