Yes 87 is a poor effort from the batsman
But SA + AS have batted well in this concept in the last few years
Im more concerned with the bowling at present
Missing in action who have bowled in the recent past, and mostly bowled well are :
TAIT
CHRISTIAN
POLLARD
LYON
AFRIDI
BOTHA
PUTLAND
RASHID [is that the spelling ?]

This side is missing an allrounder
Christian or Pollard would have allowed Ferguson to play tonight
Having Obrien at 6 tonight is too high for him

The Pollard injury is now exposing the Strikers

SS 8/151[20]
henREBiques 42 [37]
MADDINSON 31 [20] gem
THOMAS 3/24 [4] bowled an outstanding last over

151 was a modest total
AS has a good batting line up, and were favs at half time according to the bookies
SS are a good bowling team, I had expected a very close finish

AS 87[18.4]
BLIZZARD 27 [21] how he does not play every game is a mystery
LEE 2/17 [2.4] outstanding again
OKEEFE 3/20 [4] excellent
MCCULLUM 2/8 [2] was he a ring in, if so what a farce this comp is when you get guys like this to play so late in the tournament
MACGILL 2/12 [4] I wonder of he takes Hoggs lead, and makes himself available in 20/20 Internationals, almost good enough as well !
SMITH 1/18 [4] the full tosses he bowls in the SS often hit the fence, but in 20/20 its a wicket taker for him !

MY VOTES
3 OKEEFE
2 THOMAS
1 MCCULLUM

Yes MAL all sides can replace their imports. Bravo had to return to the Windies to play. Smart move, he is a half decent bowler, good fielder and can hit a big one.

Yeah, how dare a newer generation of kids and women infiltrate what was usually a male dominated spectator sport to see a game wrapped up inside 3 hours, inventive shots, lots of sixes, ingenious fielding and great atmosphere.................I'm with you, what possesses nearly 27,000 people to give up their Tuesday night to attend, wouldn't that be equivalent attendance of 6 seasons of home games for the Sheffield Shield?

Domestic cricket is dead.

A lot of passion in here about a loss by a team we can't connect with in a version of the game that is a joke in a new format that is a farce. :-?

Anyone would think we actually care what happens to the Strikers in the Big Bash!

From the 12 tonight... red are regulars for the Redbacks

1. Blizzard
2. Borgas
3. Cooper
4. Crosthwaite

5. Drew
6. Ferguson
7. Harris
8. Klinger (c)
9. O’Brien
10. Richardson

11. Salpietro
12. Thomas

What i meant was Born & Bred Sth Aussies .

Would i be right in saying there's 4 players out of 12 there?

I think that quote was JJ, not me.

Fair question, anyway.

Very glad I didn't buy a Strykers shirt....I probably would of burnt it after last night.

From the second ball off our innings everyone knew we were in big trouble.

I was in a group of more than 10 and at the change of innings we all thought we would sh*t it in but you are spot on....2 balls in and we all thought we were in huge trouble. At that point one of my mates actually predicted we would make 93. we scoffed, laughed and assured him we would at least fight towards their target but more than likely fall short with the max factor to build our chase around. 93 what an optimist

Certainly NOT me.

Not so much against T20, just the new format and the LOCAL team being mainly made up of 2nd & 3rd rate interstaters just doen't inspire or enthuse me to feel a connection with them.

A wee bit harsh i would've thought being Banned for life considering that a person in society can Murder someone, get 15 years in jail and then is free to go to the cricket and footy at A.O. again whilst a drunken fool who ran across the oval gets life. :?

Would much rather be sitting next to a pitch invader than a murderer in 15 years time.

Does the life ban really mean anything though...I would doubt any security would recognise you and you could just put on a disguise.

Also the beer prices last night were pretty poor. $7.50 for a cup of superdry, it wasn't a big cup either.
