well, as I said, John Harndon said it would be held at the AO if we earned the right
What's the point of footy denying this access in the years we earn the right?
Anyway, without the 2011-12 cricket schedule it's all speculation for now anyway as to the dates of the shield final. Next year we get the 20-20 revamp at State level and possibly a shortened Shield season.
They might choose to finish the Shield season in January. Who knows yet?
That would be funny. All ifs of course, but lets have a look at a scenario:
-The new APL will bring money into the CAs coffers
-This money is to be spent on the grassroots of cricket in this country
-Shoring the foundations of the game can only be a good thing for the Australian Cricket Team in the future
-But to do this, we must shorten the Shield season
So what happens when the benefactors of the money the APL attracts, reach the domestic level? They find most of the matches are 20/20, and a short Sheffield Shield season.
And how on earth is this going to be good for our Test side, and also our ODI side?
