Who left the gates at Glenside open?
Sorry mate but he is a class act. He has been dominating domestic cricket for 2 months. Unlucky to be dropped from the test side. He is one to watch. There is martyn and mwaugh about him. He may even average more than 42 in test cricket before he retires
What's his average now? If it's not more than 42 now then he's no chance. The number 4 and 5 spots are not mortgaged by Hussey and Clarke in Test cricket but owned. Ponting has 3 wrapped up and the number 6 spot will be taken by Symonds (hopefully for a while) and if not a young emerging talent. The ship has sailed for Hodge in Test cricket. He's a very good player and will go down with the likes of Siddons, Lehmann etc who were unlucky to not have played more test cricket. Barring an injury crisis his Test career is finished.
I have been very impressed by Hodge and do think he may take the number 4 or 5 spot in the Test team with Hussey to move up to the opening position vacated by Langer (and soon Hayden as well).
As for the one dayers, in this point in time Hodge is in the best XI and with Symonds back should still stay in the top 7.
