is there anyone else out there that agrees with me that this bloke is batting way to low in our line up? which is struggling at the minute.

i watched his inning's against the poms in the first dig and thought he was excellant looked very solid and never looked like getting out and gets left not out! How the hell can manou bat infront of o'brien?

on form at the minute he should be batting at 5 with ferg in the side and 4 if ferg is on national duty but hey this is just my opinion....
you've gota keep on keep'n on .........

I rate this guy Carey, even though I've felt he was a "bits and pieces" player, but he has had a really good season so far (3 digs, 106 runs @ 53), with Blizzard, Ferg (1 game), and Duval (bowler) the only guys with more runs.

Smith and Harris are an improving opening combo, and with Max at three, and Ferg 4, Blizzard 5, they should put O'Brien 6 IMO, then seven for Manou/Ludeman, before the bowlers come out.

And FWIW, I also think Cullen Bailey, Chris Duval, Edmonson, and George should round out the side.

Certainly would look a lot more solid than the muck around efforts we've seen so far...

But this thread will be about O'Brien, and for me, he is absolutely crucial to everything they do.

yep agree media the 11 you just named is our best 11 and should we field that side evry week we'd be alot better than what we are now.

1. harris
2. smith
3. max
4. ferg
5. obien
6. blizzard (been very good for us so far just like obrien ahead of him in the batting line up tho)
7. manou (still just ahead of laudeman because of his glove work)
8. bailey
9. duval (who really needs to take more wickets)
10. edmenson (i think he'll turn his bowling around soon a big haul isnt far away for him i feel)
11. george (although if he was a new southwelsh men he'd in the national side)

the thing for me tho is outside that 11 with the exception of D.C and laudemen who else is knocking on the door???

Somehow I forgot about DC- He could easily supplant Duval (with the wickets Duval isn't taking, DC would be just as good, and a better bat. Put DC at seven, and then your keeper is number eight- which really takes the "Ludeman is a better batsman" out of the equation...

IF they had an award for most honest cricketer in Domestic cricket he would go close to winning
He values his wicket, he makes batsman earn thier runs when bowling his leftys
He is not blessed with a natural star ability at this level
But he squeezes every ounce of abilty into almost every performance

He should be batting one rung higher in the current line up

IMHO O'Brien should be batting no higher than 7 in the side.

Wouldn't mind seeing this side for tomorrow's game (I know it wont happen)

Smith
J Borgas
Moffatt
Blizzard
C Borgas
Christian
O'Brien
Manou
Richardson
Lyon
George

12th: Cassell
