Ponting is the captain, there is no one else in that side that could captain at this stage, Clarkes form is equally as bad as Pontings and atleast Ponting has experience as a captain so that gives him the edge in my book, we cant have both in the side in the current form that they are in.

Here we go in their last 10 innings

Ponting- 262 runs @ 29.11
Clarke- 169 runs @ 16.90

and you think Ponting should go before Clarke mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Laughable again.

Yeah I gotta agree and that he shouldn't have played fourth test with a questionable finger. But the series was still in the balance.
With that... a slight deflection to the next topic!

Maybe Clarke's ring has gone down the gurglar.

Maybe they were applauding because for the first time this series our number 3 has showed some spine

Ever tried playing Test Cricket with a broken finger?? Ponting has more guts than you could even dream about :-#

or maybe it says more about those who did stand to clap him off at Sydney, knowledge of this game.

FFS a standing ovation for a score of 37 give me a break....

It certainly does mate, we'd take 37 each from our top 7 atm, that would leave us a further 41 to muster up from our bottom 4 plus extras to gewt to 300, 300 seems to be an above-par total for us on recent form. We then need to find the right bowling attack that can restrict other teams to less than 300.
