Postby SOTTERS » Sun Feb 04, 2007 12:08 am

Andrew Symonds will have surgery on his bicep in the next couple of days. Will miss remainder of tri series and the chappell Hadlee games. At this stage may only figure in the latter stage of World Cup.

That would be a blow to the Australian team, and also my enjoyment of the game. I hope he's not out for too long.

Funny how it wasn't so long ago that some people were saying he shouldn't be in the team, and now they are about to find out just how important he is.

Hmm if a certain redback had done the extra fitness work in the last six months so he could have batted through the innings last night, how would that have looked in the eyes of the Australian selectors with this opportunity arising.........????
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Disagree
Matthew ELLIOTT has a dodgy knee and at his age could not be expected
to get any fitter over the last 6 months.
TASSIE surely at 35 the Australian selectors have bypassed him.

ROY irreplaceable.

I would say 6-8 weeks recovery period and another 4-6 weeks strengthening

with the world cup in mid march, I can't see Roy beng fit in time

Roy has ruptured his bicep tendon, this will require surgery, this is usually a 3 month injury, so with the world cup squad to be announced within 10 days, you can safely assume he will not be available
