My shield side would be:

Harris
Smith
Klinger
Ferguson
Borgas
Christian
Manou
O'Brien
Edmondson
Tait (Haberfield/Cassell if Tait doesn't play)
George
Cooper (12th)

One Day
Harris
Klinger
Ferguson
Blizzard
Cooper
Christian
Manou
O'Brien
Haberfield/Edmondson
Tait
George
Borgas (12th)
Go you Redbacks!

I agree with the team except you have except I would bat O'Brien at 6, Choc at 7 and Christian at 8. It looks like a solid side, the problem is the lack of quality depth if we cop injuries

If Cooper makes the side in the 1day comp, IMO he needs to open! Borgas
is just starting to find his feet as a number 5 and can score reasonably quickly when needed!!!

Yeah, i'd have bloods08 one day side with Cooper opening with Harris and Klinger at 3, Ferg at 4 and Blizzard at 5.

h, i agree he should be back firing, but if he does he would be risking the big money he is making from 20/20. Playing IPL - 6 weeks, SACA = 4 weeks, Glamorgan - 6-7 weeks. 4 months work for the year and he would have to be getting 1/2 million plus if you combine the income. sure he would earn more playing first class and test. would you take the risk, not sure i would given injury background and the enormous grind on the body that 4 and 5 day cricket places??????????

FWIW, I thought Blizzard was brought in as a T20 and ODD player.

If he has a bit of success (probably will have a couple in the hit-and-giggle games), is he a chance to play FC for SA?

Yeah I think so, if he makes runs in grade cricket early in the season I think the selectors will have a look at him for the 4 day game.

Blizzard was very ordinary for Richmond in grade cricket last year. He is a 20/20, One - Day player only (at this satge). Would be a backward move playing him in Shield cricket. Although saying that he has come to SA for more oppurtunities at First Class level so expect him in the side 1st Shield game.
