Can i ask a silly question but why have the amateur league sent out a list of the top 10 votegetters from each club when the season has not even finished yet?

So they know who to invite to the medal counts.

I see your point FC but surely could wait til after the season? It's not AFL with a black tie dinner and all....also reckon last year they only invited the Top 3 (could be wrong though).

It was the top three and what a crappy ceremony it is.
I'd like to go back to the days where it's held at one of the clubs in that grade and there is at least some mingling.
If they want something at amateur house, I believe they should spread it over two or three nights so at least it doesn't feel so rushed and desultory.

Just trying to remember how they did it in past years.. they pre-count so many rounds and then invite the top 3 from each club to finish off the count at Amateur House. Then the winning club from each grade gets an invite to the Div 1/2 medal count (which was at AAMI last year) to have their medals etc presented.. I think its just a time saving measure.. imagine having to cournt right through from round 1 for div 8 to round 18 for div 3.... snore...

Because the amateur league is just that: amateurs.
The people running things this year have no idea what they are doing; it has been poorly run to say the least.
Teams like CLG do not help this with their feral, toothless crowds.
Also saw some of the rules the league wants to change. Morons.

3 point rush behind
No kicking backwards- this will be funny with current standard of umpiring
Interchange # limit

Probly did it early to get word of mouth about the night at Tynte St, and you'd think the winner of each medal would be in the Top 10 of their club after Round 16...

Why do they have people in the top list that only played 1 game for their club, couldn't have any sort of chance to win anything but they must have got pionts for their 1 game. These lists shouldn't have players named that clearly only played 1 game for that grade...

What a joke!! Leave the rules alone & stop trying to be the AFL, hands in the back interp was even worse at SAAFL level this year than it was at AFL level. Keep it the same and keep it simple......
