Is it possible that we finish with a final 4 where 1st is automatically promoted to reward them for their effort across the full minor round season. Finals would then be 2 weeks with 1v4 and 2v3 with the winners to going straight into the GF. If 1st makes the GF winner 2vs3 is also promoted, however if 4th wins the winner of the GF is promoted along with 1st. Thoughts??

As opposed to when 4th or 5th win it in previous years?

I think this has happened less than 7% over the past 10 years or something like that.

Probably rare, I can think of Ingle Farm and Fitzroy in recent times.
Wonder how often the minor premier misses the GF too?
The Bedge wrote:Last 8 years - A Grade divisions.
56x Grand Finals.
48x Minor Premier has competed
31x Minor Premier has won premiership
18x a side from 4th or 5th reached GF
4x won from a side in 4th or 5th (Walkerville D4 2020, Westminster D5 2014, Fitzroy D6 2019, Mitchell Park D7 2015) = 7%
Interestingly, the higher the grade, the more likely the best two sides square off in the GF.
