.. and as if getting players to register in the first instance, and then pay their fees wasn't bad enough - now they need to pay $15 to register. Going to be interesting.

1.5 million registered players in Australia

It’s great business by SportingPulse. Make the system. Get every league in Australia (and some international) using it for free.

Once they have the market. Add a $15.00 admin fee per player

Junior players are $10.

So 1.5 million times an average of $12.50 per registration is $18.75 million per year.

The other rogue is the $50 each coach has to pay to the AFL to register

Honestly, that the AFL didn't just add a 10 cent "community football levy" to every ticket sold to an AFL game to cover this cost shits me no end.

I registered the other day to see what it was like and then got an email from the SANFL saying that for registering I was getting a $100 flight centre voucher. So whilst the $15 fee is a pain, this is handy way to make up for it!

What stance are other clubs taking in regards to maintaining their price of player fees? We were considering removing $15 from our fees per player as we may get some savings back from the league in relation to costs of videoing games etc. However, with over 100 players registering and paying subs each year this is a fair chunk of money we could possibly be giving up!

a $100 voucher is not cash..its money off something you have to spend money on to benefit from..

is there a mandatory charge now for said video taping whether you want it or not?

yes, if you take $15 off players subs your club is the loser with less money..only one winner here and it starts with an "S" and ends with an "E"..

When sporting pulse was the function to register many had concerns there would be a cost eventually , we where all informed, there would be no cost it was just a tool to pool all and streamline the process ? $$$$$AFL

BELOW IS WHAT SANFL JUNIORS PROVIDED TO CLUBS BACK IN OCTOBER - NOTE: It is a SANFL levy and the SportsTG system is just being used as the vehicle for collecting it.

From November 1st, 2019 SANFL will introduce a Player Registration Fee for all registered Club Participants in Football in SA. The fee will be charged at the time of registration on the SportsTG Membership platform and will be compulsory for all players across SA to become registered for the upcoming season. The fee will be charged in two categories – Senior Football Player (18 and above) and Junior Football Player (below 18) based on the players age at Jan 1 in the year of competition. Senior Player Registration Fee - $15, Junior Player Registration Fee - $10

Through consultation with Community Football Leagues SANFL have agreed to freeze these fees for 2 years. At the end of the 2021 season a review of the Player Registration Fee will be conducted, with feedback from key stakeholders across Community Football tabled for consideration.

Why introduce a fee to players?
Players are a key stakeholder in the game and the future growth and sustainability of Football in South Australia is a team effort. Currently SANFL invests $3M per year into Grassroots Football through staff and programs that support the growth and sustainability of Football across the State. Programs such as Auskick, School Football and clinics, Mulitcultural Academies, Inclusive Programs, Coach Education, Club Development Programs and Facility Grants are just a handful of the programs and initiatives that benefit over 220,000 participants each year. By paying a Player Registration Fee, players are supporting these programs and the future sustainability of football in SA.

By Comparison*….
Football is the number 1 Club participation sport in the state and has long being the most affordable sport to play in SA. With the introduction of the Player Registration Fee Football will continue to be the most affordable club sport in SA and South Australia will continue to be the cheapest State in the country for Australian Rules Football.

AUSTRALIAN RULES (SA)
$15 Senior player
$10 Junior player
NETBALL
$57 Senior player
$47 Junior player
SOCCER
$33 Senior Male player
$82 Senior Female player
$65 Junior player
AUSTRALIAN RULES (VIC)
$69.50 Senior player
$41.50 Junior player
$29 Junior player (U12)

and in 2022 they will be near the same charged for other sports..want to make a bet? :)

curious why female soccer players pay more than double their male counterparts..and juniors more than the senior males..

All junior cricketers had to register through the mycricket website and pay a $5 insurance levy for the first time this season. This replaced the insurance clubs used to pay on a team by team basis for juniors. I assume a spin off of this was it also allowed SACA to obtain more accurate data on junior players, as what gets entered into mycricket by clubs is often pretty patchy and unreliable.

There is talk it’ll become standard process for seniors, perhaps from next season. Will be a pain in the butt when you have guys who are just filling in or who don’t understand the process.

Really? I was told that coaches do not have a fee to pay. (Assuming they have completed the Foundation Coaching course equivalent to the level they are coaching..
