Wow wee, if that's true it's a great appointment. Payney is quality.
I wonder if he will be striving towards A grade success or sticking to current mantra of the A grade battling to avoid relegation whilst D grade win premierships. I still get a chuckle from the bloke who posted the statement "2015 Year of the Lion"

Have heard they've lost almost all their senior players to retirement, will be a tough gig I reckon

They had 4 teams last year and the State and All Australian coach is the St. Micks 1st 18 coach. I'd suggest the talent pool isn't going to be as shallow as you think. Whilst I may have done a bit of fishing with my previous post it's fair to say guys like Trent and Big Ted will be making sure they are around the mark. Good club who will always be competitive.

Payney is a great coach and an even better bloke. He has great ability to get the best out of blokes. I can almost guarantee he will gain the respect of his playing group and club instantly for the way he operates. I wish him nothing but success.

But and its a huge But, Payney has a serious love for Andrew Jarman. Has done for years, Could be some movement down below when he shakes Jars hand when they at GAZA! Lol

It would be a great opportunity to step outside the comfort zone, umpiring is reasonable coin but there's nothing like being involved at a coaching level.
