Apart from your own ground, where have you loved playing and where do you despise going to?

I don't think I've ever played a good game on a parklands oval, they seem to lack atmosphere and I could never get into it.

I always loved playing at Mitcham for some reason, I always got in our best whether it was wet or dry, also loved playing at Dwight Reserve.

Any ground that has a turf deck, poor drainage and a lot of traffic over the winter!

More love for Mitchell Park pls.

Adelaide Uni. The same grass as Adelaide Oval if I am not mistaken. Lockleys is very good.

Bad - Mawson Lakes, Modbury (was legit dangerous there one day), Blackfriars

Best was Paralowie by the length of the straight.

Good
Kilburn
Thebby
Kadina
Ovingham

Worst
Modbury, PNU, TTG if its wet
Fitzroy. One day I literally couldn't see my little forward pocket player
Sailsbury. Centre square. The rest of the oval is nice.

No matter how much money the council pumps into Modbury's oval it just doesn't come up trumps. It's the downfall of being such a well organised club that attracts players throughout the ranks which in turn creates more traffic on the oval than what it can handle.

Good
Kilburn One game there, one premiership.
Thebby Of course.
Kadina Name dropper.
Ovingham Played there once, looked forward to it for weeks as I thought I'd bang goals from the centre taps, played my worst ever game ever instead. It may have had something to do with my daughter being born the day before though.

Geography also has something to do with it ;)

But yeah, Modbury, Glenunga, Hope Valley I dislike. Mud mud everywhere.

Lindblom Park.
Richmond ( 4 flags there ) gotta love that.
Flinders Park.

Dislike.
Any Eastern Suburbs ground from 89 to 98.
They were all mud baths.
One of our players lost a boot I kid you not at Athelstones ground one day.
Never found it after continuing to chase the ball.

Much better in the last 3-4 years since the Council did the drainage. Particularly if you stay deep in the forward/back lines away from the cricket pitch ;)

Based on surface alone

Worst

Anything in the parklands (except CBCOC)
They don't call it Mudbery for nothing
TTG

I refuse to go into the square at HV but otherwise the rest of the oval pulls up fine now days.

Best

Adelaide Uni (Bob Neil #1, park 10 comes under parklands, see above)
Gaza (now)
Goodwood, for the whole 3 times i've been there, seems to have a decent surface, someone feel free to correct me.

Special mention to Plympton, whose oval i can't recall ever seeing much mud on but didn't get a berth because it faces the wrong way ;)

Based on visitor changerooms

Worst
Dwight reserve
North Haven
Glenunga
Hectorville

Best
Hope Valley
Walkerville
Golden Grove
Brahma Lodge

I would've put PNU but i understand they've cut it in half.
