No sympathy from me, work within your limitations. How long will it take for clubs to work out that if your spending is going to exceed your income, you will make a loss?

I can't keep feeling sorry for clubs who pay their players too much, and then whinge when they leave for more cash. Shits me to tears.

Exactly, and those are the reasons I don't own a credit card. I don't want to spend money I don't have, and end up in the shit.

Westies won't be offered any concessions.

they will play D3 or exercise their right to stay in D4 but they won't be dropping 2 grades.
Don't play games with a girl who can play 'em better...

What is the difference between Brahma Lodge and Salisbury West, other than the obvious lack of people serving on the executive committee?

Has the League changed their thoughts since they set a precedent last season?

I should add, there are some good people at Westies who would play for $0, pay rego and put money over the bar, like there would be at Kilburn and Brahma Lodge. I feel for these guys, but the clubs as a whole need to have a genuine look at the way they run things before they get to the point of running out of money and asking to drop grades.

So correct it's not funny......

I should say I have also have no sympathy for any club who lives beyond their means.

Any club who earns promotion should have to take it, it shouldn't be optional. If they lived beyond their means to get it then the following year they should suffer if players leave.

The difference is that there were teams willing to take brahmas place in each division. Something that I don't think is the case this time around.

I believe they cannot exercise any right to stay in Div 4.......

There only hope on remaining in Div 4 is if another side who wasn't promoted from or relegated to that Division is willing to replace them in Division 3 next season......according to the league as I understand it.

Badly worded - should have been option instead of right...that'll teach me to multi task

Anyhoo, without knowing the full story (and some may not agree) but Brahma never ran out of money, they still had money in the bank - they just didn't promise to pay the world and not cough up and they simply just refused to price match, which is why everyone walked. Bear or Groove may wish to back this up or correct me.

I'm sure the league would look at every case on its own merits but why would they do any favours to clubs to are close to bust because of player payments?

The other difference is that with Brahma, there was a willing participant to go up in Glenunga. Westies are having no such luck for anyone coming up or staying up for that matter.

The biggest problem is if Salisbury West fold - you can't well have a 9 team comp in D3 and everyone will ark up if we induct another club like a Brighton or a Blackwood, so what do you do?

Why would Eastern Park or Pooraka not take the opportunity? Why would Salisbury not take the opportunity to stay?

I thought Eastern Park might've jumped - You clearly didnt see Salisbury last year. Sometimes staying up can do more harm than good to club morale.
