Just curious how many football players have actually dealt with this issue?

If the answer is no, I would really love to know the reason why.

Of course. Why wouldn't you have it?

So do I but it just means I pay less for my cover.

If I got seriously injured (have a look at the injury thread for examples) I could probably force myself to still work but don't have too.

Zero day accident cover + 60 day illness cover (obviously tailored to playing football) for about $15 a week.

I used to think this way too, but if I broke my leg say, especially my right leg I would have struggled to be able to get to that desk. Now I'm an account manager I need to have some sort of cover, my wife organised it, makes sure we pay for it and tells me I must have it!

Yeah it's easy to forget how much your wife would be affected if you can't work.

It's always interesting when I ask a couple what kind of protection they want and the differences in opinion between a husband and a wife.

So who do you rely on if you can't work???

Let's say for example, you are diagnosed with cancer... can't work and plenty of medical bills. disability support pension is just under $20,000 a year.
What do you do????
