Channel Nine Adelaide Football League?

This is an interesting read in The Bounce this week:
Kym Dillon and Tom Rehn from Nine
News tonight announced that from 2014
the South Australian Amateur Football
League will be known as the Channel
Nine Adelaide Football League.
The new name is the result of collaboration between Channel Nine and league
officials that represents the partnership
announced back in July.
Channel Nine Adelaide Managing Director, Sean O’Brien, said: “This is a brand
new era for NWS9 and our partnership
with the new Channel Nine Adelaide
Football League is one I am very proud
of.
“Community engagement is a key to our
success and what better way to do this
than with footy.
“We will be on the ground with players,
officials and umpires and grow an active
partnership that will last for years to come.”
SAAFL CEO Grant Goodall, who was part
of the naming committee, said: “We
thought long and hard about a new name
for the league and believe this reflects our
tradition while still allowing us to look to the
future.
“The Channel Nine Adelaide Football
League represents our strong partnership
with Nine and what they bring to our organisation.”
It was also announced that Nine News will
become naming rights sponsor for Divisions
4 and 5 as well as the Under 18 Red and
Yellow divisions.
Channel Nine is making a significant contribution to the league and will roll out new
initiatives over the next few weeks and in
2014. These include a new Little Legends
Clinic for junior players and Channel Nine
Kick for Cash, which will give clubs the
chance to play for a share in $10,000 worth
of prize money.
