So, what are the thoughts of the SAAFL members, clubs, footballers, supporters etc. of the possibility of the Crows playing their reserves side in the SAAFL?

How would that idea be received?

How will their entry into Div 1 work with regards to the current teams that would be relegated to Div 2 or the Div 2 teams being promoted next year?

Will they have to field a reserves side?

Will the be exposed to Promotion/Relegation like every other club?

It would be interesting to hear the perspective of the SAAFL members and audience.

The Crows reserves reserves in D1R - has a certain ring to it ....does this mean a D5 team could beat them?

Most of it is very straight forward. A side that good you won't need to worry about promotion and relegation, because losing would be a rarity. They would play all games at Thebarton, allowing them to set up permanently all the bits and pieces they need and guaranteeing the required space and camera setups.

Tough part comes when you question whether they play for the premiership or not and whether they would need to have a season similar length to the AFL then the surrounding issues of having the opposition take it seriously.

They should think they're better because they are. They're a professional club, paying people to do what most do for free and paying their players bucket loads more than the rest of the comp.

Do the SAAFL executive have the power to admit teams to the league or do the clubs and their delegates get a say?

I am glad you think so. My point was that we really haven't heard anything from the SAAFL regarding this, only the dummy spit from the crows that if the SANFL won't have us, we will go anf **** up the SAAFL.

Good point, there may well only be a handful of Crows listed players available toward the end of a season. And as you mentioned, the reserves of the reserves would also be an issue.
These are most likely moot points though I would think. I doubt this will eventuate.

Good point, there may well only be a handful of Crows listed players available toward the end of a season. And as you mentioned, the reserves of the reserves would also be an issue.
These are most likely moot points though I would think. I doubt this will eventuate.

The Crows believe that the SAAFL D1 is a stronger and harder comp than SANFL Reserves. Older bodies where as SANFL Reserves is mainly U/18's and a couple of older bodies.

Does that mean there would be three teams relegated next year to make way for the Budgies? That would then cascade down through each of the divisions.

wouldnt Port Power be pleading for a reserves team in Div 1 too??

Lets see what happens next week with the vote then see what model the SAAFL come up with
