This is sensational news for the league and the clubs alike. A win/win for everyone involved.

A big congratulations must go to Grant, JK and the board for securing this massive sponsorship.

I didn't know a bloody thing about this, very sneaky!

Not sure about game of the week (although that'd be gold) but given that it's a 3 year deal, there'd have to be something more in it for us besides the div 1 scores on the news every Satdee.

I'm sure we'll hear more in coming weeks and months 8)

Great news! Would be good to see the scores on the news every Saturday night. Even if they just rolled them along the bottom during a brief story on one of the games. That would be great to see

I think that will probably happen, although the more, the merrier.

This is fantastic news.

Hopefully this means increased exposure for the league.

Reminds me of the old days when the now defunct SAFA was on 9 every Sunday. What a comp that was. :)

Have the 2am Sunday morning match of the round on Gem. The Woolshed would fill the bar with blind blokes telling birds with faces like a 5th day pitch how good they are on TV.....

More info regarding the new deal below:

Dear Clubs,

It is with excitement that we announce our new Naming Rights Partner for SA Amateur Football League. This is a first for the League and comes with many benefits to all Clubs. From 2014 Channel 9 will have presence at one game per round to promote SAAFL. Channel 9 community staff will help run your BBQ, or promote your club with an upcoming event, or run a handball competition etc. This attendance will give excellent exposure to clubs and attract new crowds. There will be a lot of videoing captivating our clubs and players during the partnership, again great branding for clubs. There will be SAAFL T.V ads that will play during the season promoting grassroots football and scores will be announced on the weekend news.

As we head in to 2014 we will be working closely with Channel 9 to coordinate next year’s presence and events. Stay tuned for what is going to be a magnificent ride!
