only time to sing on the oval is if you win the grand final then you and the fans can sing it loud and proud

On the oval if it's a underdog win, in the changerooms if it's an expected win.

Always in the changerooms unless its the Grandy. I think its a sign of respect to not shove the losers faces in it.

Having said that, our Bs sing it with such gusto that it would be deafening in the opposition changerooms at our ground anyway.

Sometimes twice, depending on circumstances. Once for supporters, once for us. Usually just for our supporters though.

If you are in the changerooms singing it and the oppopsition cant hear it then you are not singing it loud enough. You are supposed to rub it in the opposition's faces...discreetly (ie not on the oval)...

It has got to sacred. Who cares what the opposition think. What about the couple of hundred of supporters that watch your team from week to week. Don't they deserve to be part of the win. Further Running out onto the ground after a b grade win I used to love the fact I could hear them singing the club song. It made me want to win just that bit more for the opportunity to do the same at the end of my game. Nothing better than all of your supporters singing along with you.

WOSFC have done it on the oval since day dot.
No disrespect intended, it's just what we do.
I wasn't aware there was a right and wrong way of celebrating a victory?!

there isn't. just more about personal opinion... or a club tradition.

Been in footy since JC played Full Back for Jerusalem....they call it a War Cry OR Victory song for a reason. Was never meant to be disrespectful always a celebration of your efforts that day. Happens to all of us....you need to learn how to win and how to lose, it's part of that process.

The only reason AFL teams don't sing it on the field is because at the MCG with 80,000 you could get safety issues. They still play it of course on the PA every chance they get.

In our League I recon, you win and you get to sing it wherever and as often as you like. On the ground, in the change rooms wherever......never meant to be disrespectful just the rights earned by the winners.

Agreed tho if you win by plenty against the bottom side you will tone it down a bit, out of respect for yourselves and everyone else. Win a game under pressure and you've earned the right to sing it loud and proud.

We don't sing it on the ground in the A's much any more.
Always good to watch the two's singing as the one's run out though

Always painful to hear it sung on the ground if you do lose. Especially if the coach forces you to stay and listen to it. I think the Plympton coach in the B's made his boys stick around to hear the song after we cam back big time in the last quarter a few weeks back

Sing it on the ground! Your supporters deserve to hear it and share in the moment, not playing bloody AFL here
