Eastern Park to D4

My source has come through again after some investigation. ^:)^ ^:)^

It's official Eastern Park will ask the clubs to vote for them to bypass D3 in 2013 and go from D2 straight to D4.

They need 51% of the clubs to vote for them.

This must not be allowed to happen for the sake of the league or we will end up with every club telling the league where they want to play if they know they are going to have a bad season. [-X

This would set awful precedent!

Who would replace them in Div 3, Salis West or CBCOC?

If CBC were to stay up though I'm all for it, one less road trip!

As if it's going to become a common occurence.

If someone wants to replace them, then let EP drop another division.

Having played against them for a couple of season before, I remember EP's were pretty mouthy towards clubs facing relegation after a tough season. Now that they're on the bottom of the "J" curve they want some considerations so as to have a soft season. Take Rosewater's example for sticking out a tough season knowing it was coming... Suck it up Eastern Park and do your best in Div 3. Anyone who votes in favour needs "smart" pill.......post haste.

I'm torn.

They're our only local away game in 2013, but I still hate their oval.

I know the people in charge wouldn't be making the decision, either way, lightly.

The new coach at Brighton is quite happy to say they are coming across in 2014 and there are no rules now relating ot where they start.

should not happen, drop down grade by grade like other clubs do.

Let's be honest, no one wants to play against Eastern Park. Its about as far North as the amatuer league goes so is always a long drive for any club other than Elizabeth and maybe one or two others. I know it's not all the supporters, but the majority are always abusive towards any opposition club. The changerooms are better than what they were (new showers) but all in all all div 3 sides will vote yes and all div 4 sides will vote no
IMO which seems to be the general consensus is that they should play where they are supposed too. There are a lot of clubs that go through "rebuilding phases" but they don't go down grades to make it easier. Div 3 should be where they stay for at least 2013.

A bit more than not wanting to travel me thinks......Making it easy for clubs who are fearful they might cop a belting or two during the season after relegation..... you set precedents you don't need. Next they will want to drop two divisions ? Perhaps send them down to Div 5.....that should ensure they get to sing the club song a few times..... not only a guernsay clash down there but "c'mon the Demons will take on a whole new meaning. :) Think all member clubs should vote on this...not for EP....but for the notion of it....

If you are referring to Lockleys, pretty sure they're in Div 6
