With week 1 of finals done and dusted except for D1. what have we learned about certain teams & Clubs in the 2012 finals series!!!

Kilburn the real deal.

Salisbury West maybe not that good.

TTG has very good depth

Port District preseason hype is just that hype!!

Portland have performed better than the sceptics thought.

Other thoughts or perceptions

It appears that most of the sides that the pre-season hype was centred around was just that.

Plenty of under-achievers all round if you read too much into things on here back in March.

I think we learned that in the wet conditions home ground advantage goes out the window

Of the 19 home games played in D2-D8 (excludes D7 as both non home games) & C1-C4

8 home teams won & 11 lost
D5 & C4 none of the home teams won

and yes I am bored

Can't be bothered getting into slanging matches. Just interesting going back over some pre season posts.

Westies obviously couldn't employ their hard running game then?

I think we have underachieved this year. Mean that in no way to be disrespectful to the 4 others teams still alive in Div4. Our best is/was good enough to beat anyone but through injuries and poor football, we couldn't put it together at the right end of the season.

Still would've been difficult to run on if that's your game style.

Blackfriars can not win an elimination final, 0 from 3 attempts -

2008 - 1 pt loss to Smithfield
2009 - 3 pt loss to Rosewater
2012 - 6 pt loss to Lockleys

agreed.
it killed me to put that last goal on the scoreboard for Lockleys when i could see our timekeeper with his hand on the buzzer.
my young lad was shattered - 9 years old and has spent many saturday arvos in the last 7 years watching the hounds play.
