Well not long now until we pull on the runners and try to shed the extra 5-10kgs of beer drinking done in the last 2 months after season 2011 was complete.
Any word on when teams are starting their pre-seasons? What is a reasonable amount of training before xmas. Where do we draw the line of too much or too little?
Walkies start back next Tuesday the 15th of Novemeber for one night a week I believe leading up to Christmas...

i know it will sound stupid but some of the ovies boys started running last saturday
they are going to do that every saturday morning up to xmas
nothing about the footy really but alot of the lads dont play cricket,so they are doing it more to keep in touch
also alot of lads are starting to head back from the GAN over the next couple of weeks and it will be good for them to get back with good mates
personally,i start next year,to busy on saturdays with the greens

Personally, under normal circumstances, I don't see the point in starting preseason before New Years.
Those who want to do the extra work will do it anyway and will start their own running/gym groups.
It just makes the season too long and possibly burn out players before the games that count come the major rounds and its a pain for those with other sporting commitments.

Mawson Lakes Football Club 2012 Pre Season Training
Commences on Monday 5th December 2011 at 6:15pm (Venue TBA)
Training will be only once a week every Monday up until 19th December 2011 and will strictly just be skill sessions.
Training will then recommence in the new year every Tuesday and Thursday starting on Tuesday 10th January 2012 at Mawson Lakes Hotel Oval.
Instead of the usual 'meet the coaches day' MLFC will be hosting a Golf Day in December for all existing players and potential new recruits to mingle and have a great day together.
As always new players are welcome so if you have anybody who may be interested feel free to PM me for more information.

I think if the demand is there, then you'd be silly not to run a weekly session. It's a good idea to keep the skills sharp over the off-season, so you're not trying to juggle the balance between maximising fitness gains and improving the skill base during the three months before Round 1.
Houghton Districts' skills sessions start tomorrow and continue every Wednesday until Dec 14th. The lads are keeeeen, must be the exuberance of youth!
