SUBS

WAS WONDERING WHAT THE SENSIS WAS FOR CLUBS HAVING PLAYERS PAY THEIR SUBS AND IN TURN PLAYING UNFINANCIAL PLAYERS. I KNOW A FEW CLUBS DO NOT LET PLAYERS PLAY FINALS IF THEY HAVE NOT PAID SO IT SURPRISES ME THAT ONE CLUB INPARTICULAR PLAYED IN A GRAND FINAL WITH 10 UNFINANCIAL PLAYERS AND A COACH WHO ALSO HAD NOT PAID. WELL MAYBE IT DOESNT SURPRISE ME AS THIS CLUB HAS SLID DOWN THE GRADES IN RECENT YEARS AND THEN THE COACH WHO SHOULD BE SETTING THE EXAMPLE APPLIES FOR THE A GRADE JOB

What club are you associated with Diesel & where did you get your info? I think i know what club your referring to.
My club this year as always threaten the players that if subs aint payed by a certain date well they won't be playing.
It didn't work out like that as their was alot of players not financial by the last round & players still played, as a matter of fact our B & C grade played finals with alot of non financial players, its been getting harder & harder each year, i can't believe that players are so tight & direspectful to not pay their fees to their club.
Its hard enough as it is on clubs financially but for players to slap an extra burden on the club shows a lack of respect they have.
I was always on to players all year to pay their subs then i got sick of chasing them down when they obviously had no intensions to pay, the matter was taken out of my hands by an individual before the last minor round game & that person put his hand up to collect the outstanding fees from the As & Bs but like alot of things the club was let down again, not surprising!

Wonder how clubs and players would react that all subs would have to be paid to the league by a certain date by individuals, if not by round 10 then the player would be deregistered and unable to play at all the remainder of the year.
The money paid would go straight to team registration fees and any excess would be given back to the club. If players do not pay their fees then they will never be cleared to any other club until they are paid in full to the league?? If players are sponsored they can also be paid by a 3rd party.
In my opinion this would piss off alot of free loaders.

The difference in today's day and age is that players think they are doing the club a favour by playing for them. It used to be an honour to represent your club, now it's somewhat of a burden as there is a fair bit of travel and the injury risk factor.
Times have changed and playing football tends to have a lower priority in peoples lives nowadays.

Yeah blokes really want to pay $200 a year to play for club they have for years when the guys around them get paid $200 a week to play at a club they don't care about it.

Maybe clubs should stop paying so many players and sub sidise players subs.

Central United developed a good strategy, players pay $10 per week when they get their guernsey.

That's what happens at Districts, Pay an initial $30 or $40, then $10 every game you play until you have payed off a total of $180 or whatever it was this season. Works well for the blokes who don't want to play every game or can't play every game

I like that format exept for a player playing when it suits him or when he thinks he can play.
You make a committment at the start of the year you honour that & follow through with it. that means if your subs are $220, you pay upfront or $50 the first game & $10 every round after that, if the "freeloading tight arse pricks" don't keep up, they don't play & if you continue to fall behind you are suspended until your up to date.
Blokes that are on good money per game should have it taken out of their payments.

I WOULD TAKE IT ONE STEP FURTHER AND SAY ANYONE WHO IS ON MONEY SHOULD NOT GET PAID ANYTHING UNTIL THEIR SUBS ARE PAID OFF /:) NO ONE PLAYS THIS FOOTBALL AS THEIR FULL TIME JOB SO THE BONUS OF MATCH PAYMENTS IS SIMPLY THAT - A BONUS - LOOK AFTER THE CLUB THAT IS LOOKING AFTER U

If you call that crap well your a very dishonest person, i'm glad this subject come up coz i feel its a very important one that shows where a player stands with his club when it comes to passion pride & loyalty.

Here we go again No Mercy and his theories on life. You are the most hypocritical bloke on this forum Mercy for a bloke who all year talked about white ants you are the biggest white ant of all. If only you practised what you preach the club you supposedly love might not be in the predicament that it is in at the moment. You talk about lies mate your in denial. If you think that how you acted this year and what you did was acceptable then to quote your great self, shame, shame, shame  As for presentations I'm probably not the only one who turned a blind eye and I'm pretty sure the majority of the crowd wish they had ear plugs because it was a disgrace using a night of celebration to grandstand your own personal agenda. Feel sorry for the blokes who actually won awards because you would not have known it after your rant.

surely it cant be that hard to find a player sponsor to pay your subs, we have an older bloke at our club who goes out and gets a player sponsor for all of the U/18s at our club so they dont have to pay any fees, its not easy getting an U/18s side together so this helps out massivly, now if 1 bloke can go out and get 24 sponsons, why can 1 bloke go get 1 for himself.
