Footy Budget Team of the year shock omissions...

Postby scrappy1 » Tue Sep 21, 2010 11:57 am

I just had a look at the TOTY and noticed that there were some players very very unlucky not to be selected and on the flip side guys who were lucky to be picked.
Just wondering which players from your division cant count themselves unlucky.

Div 4 Association medallist Todd Sheppard from GG missed out.

yea for me could have gone either way with them two pressler obviously stood out more in the selectors eyes due to the fact there was very minimal players in his side getting the footy so he was a huge stand out,

Was THE BEST PLAYER in Div 4 let alone in the best 4 or 5 mids according to certain people. He was better over the year than any other player..... Who selected the side ??

Had a better year than Boxer from our side..... there's one. I can't believe I need to argue why an Association Medallist can't make the team of the year for his division....

whilst not seeing todd play this year winning the medal doesnt always mean you are the best player in that div.

and in no way am i sh!t canning him in anyway yes he defaintly is a fantastic player im just making the point that winning the medal doesnt mean you are the best player in the div and having spoke to players from div4 it was a shock he won it let alone by that margin but as i said havnt seen him this year so cant really comment but i can comment on that thing he had on his head at the medal count my god!

I agree that just because he was adjudged the BEST player by the umpires that he shouldnt get an automatic start.
IMO he isnt one of the top 3-4 midfielders in Div 4, however should atleast have been named on the bench, because the guy can play.

How does pressler standing out in a s**t team that wins 1 game, as oppposed to Thach standing out in a average team that wins 7 games make any difference to the selection criteria?
Pick the best available players from the performances they display on the field which alter the result.
