Hes on the committee and is writing this before its even met?? Why? notice he's trying to make out he's not on it!! Is he trying to exert undue influence?
and what a crock of crap he's used, he was the one that wanted the review but he's the only one that gets paid to be on these committees, the rest are volunteers
From what I was told he's shitty as his cronies got chucked off the list and he may not get what he wants for a change

Effective Use of Resources
One of the challenges facing sporting clubs is keeping a lid on escalating costs. There are a number of measures that determine success in a club but practically all measures are somehow equated to a $ value. For example, volunteers in Australia add $43 billion to the GDP (Gross Domestic Product) and volunteers in sport account for $4 billion (source: C Pedini - CEO Volunteering Aust). The landscape for volunteers is changing. Below are current trends: There is an increase in the number of people prepared to volunteer but the gender balance is shifting – (50% decline in men volunteering and a 25% increase in women). There may be more volunteers but they are contributing less time. They are more likely to volunteer if the work is flexible (do it when it suits them), project based (undertake a task that is short term with an end in sight) and in an environment where they feel comfortable (replicates their own values – inclusive) and where they feel supported (someone to help, clear documentation of responsibilities and expectations).
When it comes to the bottom line, it is important that volunteers are used in an efficient and meaningful way. What $ value would we place on volunteer labour? There are many variables so for the exercise to illustrate, let’s assume the $ value of a volunteer is $25 / hour. What $ value would be placed on a committee meeting, running the canteen for the day, organising a social event? Take a Delegates meeting: 75 people x 4 hours (incl travel) x $25, plus staff and preparation time would equate to $7,500 x 9 meetings per year = $67,500. The challenge is to determine whether this is the most effective use of resources? What ways can achieve the same results but at less cost and reinvest those human resources back into clubs?
On Monday the Delegates agreed to set up a committee to review the constitution. Let’s hope the review committee looks closely at the ways we can eliminate inefficient and duplicated practices. We should be continuously improving the way we operate. It’s important that we are mindful that volunteers are a limited resource. We need to allow them flexibility, ensure they are well supported, and have a clear understanding of their responsibilities and accountabilities.
