Hear a rumour that it is about to be fixed and thank our lucky stars for that. Not hearing good things of late and can only hope the Delegates at the next meeting might be able to have a say about it.

Rumour is wrong - looks like it will have to come to the Delegates at the next meeting or maybe even further...................................

In the "Other Matters" section for this one;

Todays Footy News has a section on Close Encounters (won by a kick) and lists a Div 1 result for Gepps V TTG as 2 point victory to TTG.

Now when that game finished, and I was there, I could have sworn the scoreboard read Gepps Cross had won by around 50+ points. I stand corrected. If I'm losing my 'marbles' or early onset of dymentia is occuring then I'll have to deal with that, but please, if you are going to put things in print, get the facts CORRECT.
This gives many people a very valid reason to have a shot at the publication for incompetance.

Hey guys, has anyone got any ideas what "Headbutting" will cop? A lad from the club has been reported for "headbutting" but it was a head collision in an altercation, rather than a flat out headbut. The word he is getting is it will be in excess of 6 weeks.

One of our 18's got 6 weeks for the same thing earlier in the year, so you're on the mark there...

6 weeks is what he got but got told if he was a senior player it could of been the horrible mark of 12 suppose it depends on the mood of the tribunal on the night and evidence given good luck to him

How about Seatons Bruce Barnes getting found not guilty of an elbow but guilty of a hip & shoulder.
The report was layed 2 weeks after the game.
This was no off the ball incedent, a fair dinkum hip & shoulder.
Unfortunately for the bloke involved he sustained a broken jaw.
That suspension leaves Barnesy suspended & deregisterd from the SAAFL for life.

Whats your thoughts on the 12 game your out rule?
A guy thats played Amateurs for 20 years & just broke the 12 game barrier with a 6 game sentence.
I think its a f...n disgrace, there are still players playing the game in C grade etc that are over 20 games.
WHERES THE CONSISTANCY SAAFL? GET RID OF THE THUGS I AGREE but you can't call Barnes a thug, he's a hard at it player & a very good player at that.
This rule needs to be changed ASAP.

Have heard that a nasty, nasty surprise is heading the way of a few in the Bunker NM so I think that Seaton might have that one covered in many, many, many, many, many, many ways.

What is the 12 game rule?

Once your total games suspended reaches 12 you're gone for life?

hear what the outcome was?, saw "the lad" and reporting umpire discussing it that night at club, prehaps a plea bargain?

IIRC its 12 games in a 3 year period.

From what I have read on here this is the 2nd expulsion and if the facts are reported correctly in both cases the suspensions are a complete joke.

This Investigation panel should only be open to the week preceding the alleged incident. Once the next round commences its done and dusted. If the incident was not dealt with on the day or by the following Monday then the appellants are just clutching at straws looking to make a name for themselves

Just like the this weeks footy budget. It seems Angle Vale have recruited the same players as Kenilworth....... ;)

Rule attempting to be changed. A few have tried unsuccessfully in the past however, but this time is another story....................the bunker boys are very, very nervous at the moment, And rightly so. Enough said for the moment.

Be careful what you wish for...

The removal of this rule will see freedom for blokes like the Creeks to come back and infest our competition.

This rule has it's merits but just like anything else, possibly needs a tweak but also needs to have set boundaries.

Do we introduce a points system ala the AFL? therefore, if found guilty of an offence, you get the set penalty, when points equal 12 (and in theory, that could equal several tribunal appearances) then you're gone. (excluding abusing an umpire - that's just stupid)

To avoid unjust penalties - Do SAAFL clubs need to start taping all their games? Ok, given it's probably not going to catch off ball activity but It's the only way players are going to avoid being subject to penalties without proof..

Just foods for thoughts ;)
