2010 U/23's State Team

Just noticed the 45 player squad picked for the game in WA this year.
I would assume that Henry Hardy being named as a Henley player is a mis-print?
Unless he is now over-age i would have thought Joel Vaneveld would be picked in this squad. Would be interesting to see what other people's opinion of this squad are, it looks reasonable.
Would be interested myself to know why some of the younger guys at Eastern Park haven't been looked at, the article suggests that the team will be full of pace the likes of young Chris Lewis, Ricky Keen and Troy Gatto in the forward line have plenty of this.
Obviously with there being limited spots not eveyone will get a crack.
A ruck division of Michael Kerr and Luke Mcentee is quite mouth-watering though.

Stephen Clay? Wow. Was always handy, but wouldn't have picked him to make this squad.

Good on him!

turbo i dont no what your on about, he has never even been handy lol.
i did notice they are good young ruckman in this list and selectors dont look past div 2 very often but josh perkins i thought would have been an exception.

Zac would be from Eastern Park , thought a few more from the Demons may be in there.

Perko still has 4 years of eligibility up his sleeve to be picked for an U23 team...

will he be playing at portland for good, or is he going back to port when fit?

i think you will find he is 21 felch, i have never be real crash hot with maths but it would lead me to think he doesnt have 4 more years of elligibitiy ;)

Heard that there were only 15 players turn up to the first training??? And, talking to someone in the know, the coach has asked the SAAFL is he has the right to suspend a bloke for not playing State Footy due to "injury"

His form so far this season would not warrant the selection IMO.

Isn't Hudson eligible for this side ace? Would be worth a look with his form this year.

I believe he may have been cut.

They've added another ruckman as well.

Not Perkins. Maybe the selectors should get their bums down to a D3 game, or speak to someone who has.

always interesting these teams/lists surely the selectors can go down to potentially div4 too select blokes??
for instance Will Dalwood last year (was 20) didn't get a look in and this year is playing league footy for Norwood. there are enough people watching enough games to get the BEST players no matter where they play.

same as perkins from portland this year. small ruckman but can seriously jump and is very dangerous around the ground because he is esentially another midfeilder. but still very competative in the air.
