Thought I'd kick this one off, with Rd 1 approaching.

Should be a good comp this one with no Modbury and TTG this year, those 2 sides were quality from what I saw last year.

I'm hearing Batman & Robin have resurfaced out there! Could make things interesting based on past performances at other venues.

not too sure what's goin on. due to work i have had to take a backward step from the club and it seems that no-one is interested. we had a lot of clearances after last year and there aren't too many blokes left tbh.

unfortunately we haven't recruited much at all and it is showing right now... we've had a lot of the blokes who were at the club pre 2008 who are showing interest in coming back but just not getting numbers out...

really hoping things will turn around but it's looking bad at the moment!!!

As much as I hate to say this, it might be wise and cheaper to make the call early, especially if you're not getting any support in the form of enough players to field a team. Can't expect clubs to tolerate forfeits all season so maybe what has been mooted previously, will happen sooner rather than later.

Did anyone see the Port Districts v Gaza game. I saw Gaza train a lot over the summer and they looked like they had good numbers and a fair bit of depth. I was a bit suprised to see Port win by 12 goals in an away C grade game.

From my end of the field Gaza seemed to have a mainly older and fairly big outfit, some of whom were pretty handy players, whilst Districts had a mix of youth with leg speed and a few older blokes from last years D grade premiership. Districts got off to a good start then Gaza got back in the game to be 2 goals in it at half time, after that I think 14 goals to 4.

I believe we had 10 blokes miss out on a game plus a few still to come out, How are you blokes looking for this week at Largs? any trial game form ?

I think the A,s should get the chocolates. Id tip your reserves to get over the top of ours and unfortunately we will struggle a bit in the C,s this week. Last years C grade had its first finals appearance in 6 years and just got done by East Park at EPK who went onto the GF. But alas that team has lost 17 players. Half of those to the B grade. We have been rebuilding the team over the last few weeks but its gonna take a bit of time to gel as so many of the blokes have not even met yet. We will certainly come down and give it a crack but being a realist i believe the round 10 contest at PNU is much more likely to be the closer game. I did play in the trial against your B,s a few weeks ago and noticed you had a lot of young fellas who looked to be pretty good athletes that move the ball really well. None the less im really looking forward to comin down with the boys and seeing were we are at in C1.
One thing that really disappoints me though is what appears to be the extreme likelyhood of a 14 game minor round. I hope Ovies end up scraping a team together but im guessing that its not looking so promising

It took over 150 texts and about 50 phonecalls but i have at least managed to lure a few handy inclusions into the mix. Just wanna also confirm that our full forward is not pregnant with twins. He has just never found a steak sandwich that he didnt wanna be friends with.

Use your never ending imagination, it is one of your strong points I'm told, especially when it relates to your ability as a footballer and reading some of the diatribe put up recently
