Longbottom and Maddern gone?

Just talking to a guy from Adelaide lutheran and he said that Greg longbottom had resigned from the executive of the league. That makes 2 of them in a month or so. Greg was a great servant of Adelaide Lutheran and a big shock to see him off the executive. Something is wrong by the sounds for 2 to go lately

Even if the alarm bells weren't ringing when Maddern jumped, questions should have been asked when Schultz did and now throw in Longbottom, clubs would be justified in asking what the crikeys is going on in there.

I think you may find that Greg's may well be due to health issues.

Longbottom's son is also the future husband of Shadiacs daughter, so things must be shaky at Thebby !

Not sure that's got anything to do with it, why even bring it up?
If it's for health reasons which I believe it is, I reckon you're out of line and the post is somewhat distasteful.

Is a little distasteful when you know what greg has done for Lutherans. Dont know about his role at the League much but sure it would be good. However i hear his health has improved somewhat and it was for other reasons him quitting. Think he had just had enough of the fighting between them all and just walked away, sick and tired of the crap

Tell you what I did hear today.
The new Sunday Mail full page idea put forward at the last delegates meeting and discussed at length and which was given a fairly healthy "thumbs up" by a good majority of the delegates, got hit on the head at last nights Exec meeting I believe on the basis that " a motion to pursue the idea was never put nor voted on at the meeting" so the idea was canned.
It is my understanding that both Mark Shadiac & Geoff Heard were given the green light to pursue the project, subject to getting a sponsor to pay the $25K that would have been left to pay after the media/Grass Roots money was put into the fund.
Progress has again been halted it appears, I reckon the Sunday Mail would have a lot bigger subscription than Simply Footy or any other TV show for the amateurs that's around so I wonder why?

Who watches Simply Footy at 4.30 on a Saturday arvo anyway?
Any club person would be at their own game surely not sitting home watching TV so what's achieved by spending money on this?

Been forwarded an email from club people today written by the CEO. Has anyone seen it? - Had a lot of club names on it in blue. The email is disgraceful and borders on dictatorship. Whether you dont like something either by 1 vote or 10,000 votes, well thats it end of story. Commonsense will surely prevail in this as there just has to be people smart enough to see through this stuff. Get a copy of the email and you will be stunnned like me. Might explain why Greg and Maddern have gone. Greg is a wonderful man and would not leave unless something was seriously wrong.

I have heard about this issue too, if clubs were willing to partake in the Sunday Mail idea then bloody go with it. I for one will be watching my team play on a Sat arvo, then into the bar. Not once will i see the Simply Footy show, nor nearly everyone else who follows thier grass roots team. A Sunday Mail spread would certainly be the better option, more people would read that. I don't have a clue what goes on at board level or delegates level withuin the League, but the word 'dictatorship' is starting to really ring true by the sound of it.

Whatever happens the Executive MUST listen to the Clubs and when they dont it is "Dictatorship" as is quoted above, even if the 50K seems absolutely absurd. They send 3 people off to get 25K and then decide not to do something because it costs too much after 1 of the persons changes their mind in the first place (again). They wont spend 25K as it costs too much but spend 70K to 90K on a Footy News that has a dividend of about 4K and who knows what on a Podcast that nobody will watch. Geez I carry my laptop to the Football with me to watch a u-tube type video of something and at the time slot of 5pm on a Friday night. mmmmmmm - people would not be a the pub, driving home or still at work trying to finish things off before the weekend. Spare me for who is not being practical about things. Which rocket scientist has come up with all of this FFS   When does being practical start and this madness stop.

Funny - I remember those exact words in a telephone conversation with someone who is banned from this site and is making out he is from a different club on the Div 3 forum
