Watched Ovingham destroy Nth Pines yesterday in a trial game, won by over 20 goals easy, dont no how much you can take out of it cos dont no pines at all but they were saying that they wernt far off full strength.Talking with Ovinghams coach and he seemed happy as he said he still had klompy and 4 to 5 starting players that he rested to come in.

I think you'll find north pines aren't going anywhere. They may not be a huge threat to the flag this year but they have enough players signed up to field a team. Still got a few quality A graders from last year and should finish some where around the middle of the pack.

not from what i saw against ovies, ovies 5 classes above with more to come in.Pines look way to slow and very little skill **** see them finishing higher than bottom 2

Wattle I agree. From what I witnessed when Ovies played North Pines. I heard that they were supposed to have had some gun players come in but the only gun players i noticed were wearing blue and white guernseys or in klompys case be the runner (but he looked fit and we know that he is an exceptional player). There midfield blitzed the forward line looked too good and there backline was good. I know Moorey is suffering with achiles problems at the moment and still had the ball about 15 times in 3 quarters and looked too quick for some of the people he stood. I know he found that very funny cause he isnt that quick these days. Still have half dozen players to come in that are just as good as the top line players that played that day. Just makes me think what they would have done with their best line up and if they all played as well as they can. Spoke to Moorey after the game and he said they didnt play as well as they can and to give a little more time to gel.

Was at that game also, agree that ovies were very good and they should be right up the top this year. Pines had quite a few miss that game for various reasons but in saying that its gonna take a lot more than just a couple of players to beat ovies, that is why i guessed they would be somewhere around the middle. Did ovies play another trial on the weekend?

I heard that Wingfield are going to have a team this year so I would expect the tribunal may have to work a few nights the week after round 7 because I think this may be an extremely physical game. I would suggest that since amatuer league had the forsight to put these two teams in the same comp they may want to have some officials to keep an eye out.

I think the results may be as follows.
Scotch 1 - 10 Vs Pembroke
(Although Pembroke werent too bad last year so wouldnt be suprised if they won)
Uni 1 - 10 Vs Edwardstown
(Uni unknown what type of team they will field and dont know Towns C grade at all)
Phos 30 - 40 Vs North Pines
(Only going on how the Pines looked in the trial against Ovies)
Modbury 50 - 60 Vs Wingfield
(Modbury have been a strong side traditionally in C grade. There is only one year in the 13 seasons that I have been playing that they havent played a major part in finals footy. Reminds me alot of the Kilburn C grade team of the 90s and early 00 and Wingies must be short of players after having so many people leave)
Ovingham Vs Payneham
(i dont want to put how much I think Ovies will win by but I think it may be very convincing especially if Klompy plays)

yep - they've got some sort of bus sponsorship - i know they'll be looking at playing one game out at roseworthy to help celebrate 100 years of the agricultural college - may be somebody like north pines.
the farmers always get hit by uni holidays and generally any b&s will take a few away.
