Ashby tore division 3 and maybe 2 apart about 4-5 years ago at Eastern Park, from memory he was averaging about 5-6 goals a game from the midfield. He is only 28 at the oldest now so I'd be surprised if he didnt have a big impact on the already impressive Salisbury West side.
Josh Schell to back in that side will be very handy also...

Absolute gun and lost the medal in the last round. 5-6 goals a game would have seen him kick 110-132 so perhaps a bit of an imbelishment there but he was one of my fave players to watch. I think he kicked 5 in the Gf that year that they lost by 11 goals to Fpk IIRC that was his last game for the Demonds.

Yeh maybe it is a bit over the top but I played that year and some games he was kicking 8 or 9, was unreal...
I think he went close to winning Eastern Park's goalkicking that season, would have been close with Donnelly.

Very good player, doesnt take much to put him off his game though. Only need a tagger to give him a niggle and he will lose it

Can't have kicked many goals if his tally was close to Donnelly's.

Ha! You were fairly quiet last week....

Think you will find that those talking them up were not from the club just posting on rumours of Scott Welsh signing and a massive influx of gun players from the RMFL.

Well those RMFL players are handy inclusions but they are no superstars.

I'm quite most weeks because I have better things to do then mill around a forum 24-7. Pultney were the rave early and I made the call that it was p*ss and wind. I was right.

Congratulations Para Hills on your win.

Just a reminder though guys that if the Pulteney coach has been reported that no further comment on the incident should be made until he's seen the tribunal.

thanks

Didnt see this for myself but I have it on very good authority that a well known northern club official was spotted on Saturday on Unley road going into a male beauty supplies store to load up on more "manscaping" products...... seems he has a very strict regime for skin and hair care  it was later revealed he spends more on his "products" than his wife.

Great game at Harper's yesterday. We were fortunate to get the points. If we kicked straight it may have been a different story but bad kicking is bad fotball. West are a good side. I expect to play them again before the year is out. Sour point was the aggressive accusation of the time keeper of cheating.

For those who were't there, it was a Courtney Dempsey style moment as SW pushed inside 50 in the last play of the game. The siren went just before a free quick may have been payed for hand in the back on the SW full-forward. It was the collecting holding of breath as the umpire blew the whistle. I was pretty confident the siren had gone before their player fell forward, but i was hoping the call was to signal time off and game over rather than a push. Was the free kick there?? Depends what team you support. I felt the FF did everything well to exacerbate the resting of hand on his back, but could have easily seen it going the other way. The drama of the moment, with the siren going would have added to emotion and disappointment of the SW players.

9.18 for us is not a great day though! Lot's of work to do

Very surprised at some of the other results!
Great Job PARA HILLS and ELIZABETH!!!

I am looking forward to seeing the antics of their B grade ump (if its the same bloke) last year he tried to send our B grade coach from the coach's box to the car park ..... wasn't till the SAAFL appointed umpire for the A grade match who was watching had a word with him that he relented....... what a k... ahhh interesting individual.

I look forward to the clash of intellects between our club prez and him if he tries his antics on again

I know some umpires just aren't good, that's just a fact of lower level footy. At least they give it a crack. But Unley's B grade ump is by far the dodgiest (without using the C word) going about....

Mossy officiated at his 650th game yesterday. I think it's a bit rich to cast such derogatory accusations at any individual tho, general discussion is just acceptible but singling people out is, well,... libel. Regardless of your opinion, umpiring decisions couldn't have accounted for yesterday's reserves scoreline.

BigB

I didnt know the guys name and didnt know he would be umpiring but my opinion of the way and the standard of his umpiring remains the same (and I am clearly not alone).
You are correct in saying the he had no influence on yesterdays results Unley B grade were far too good which makes his standard of umpiring even more obvious, an arguement could be made that the free kick he pays are all there (so how can he be considered a cheat) my issue is that he only see's and therefore pays the free kicks for Unley he does not see or pay a free kick for the opposition even when it happens in front of him and yet he spots a free for Unley from the back side of the square at full forward and awards it from 70m away , unnecessary and frustrating which therefore frustrates players and opposition supporters who all start to mouth off and away he goes again free kick 25m penalty more penalties more frustration..... if this is not considered as cheating the it must be living next door because its close.
Congratulations to the man as he obviously is a good club person
I would like to know the win/loss ratio on his 650 games that might make very interesting reading
