Hamley bridge have picked up roughly 15 new players and someone made the comment that they were equivalent of div 3. I believe the A grade has many areas to improve and often turned the ball over in the back lines but thats what trials are for i guess. Two very good players to come in next week so it will be a better indication then. Also having 7 new guys the team arent going to play great straight away. Positive result for the b grade winning by about 5 goals. Good to see woodville south with a lot of numbers this year

hamley have picked up some good players but there not a div 3 standard they havent won a game since 08 and got beaten regualry by 30 goals. like i said for woodville souths sake i hope there were missing players.

Obviously everyone will put their team on top but where do you think other teams may finish according to what they've done over pre-season and last years form.

I think this will be a very close division again this year so I will name a top 5 and a bottom 5.

Pooraka
Greenacres
: seem to have recruited well and were competitive last year so should be the big improvers.
Golden Grove: With Mark Weaver as coach and good numbers on the track this young group should be ready for the next step and play finals in div 4 this season. Who's going to kick their goals though?
Woodville South: Coming down from div 3 they will obviously be used of the faster competition so will be competitive straight away. Heard they had a lot of injuries last year which is the only reason why they came down. Will play finals I would expect.
Salisbury: Up and down like a yoyo sometimes. Unsure what they will come up with this year so I wreckon they will fight for 5th spot with Unley.
Unley: Hearing they have recruited well. Were more competitive last year so look for the Jets to see some final action for the first time in years.
Fitzroy: Hard to say where they may finish. The departure of Burke to Glenunga is a masive loss and how many players have gone with him? I think they will be competitive but may miss the finals. I could be wrong though.
WOS: Extremely hard for me to say where these guys will finish as I have never seen them before. All I know is it seems to be a trend of clubs coming up from Div 5 never really make it into the finals.
Pultney: May finish higher but doubt they will see finals action. If Perrie plays again they may push for a finals birth.
Salisbury est: From all reports there has been a mass exit down there. May struggle to win many games this year and are my tip for the wooden spoon.

Not a bad write up there FF as is a pretty close division the last few years with Div 3 teams coming down normally making finals & Div 5 teams coming up as one seems to finish strongly & just misses finals action but the other goes back down.

Fitzroy played Blackfrias in trial yesterday at Fitzroy.

The Roys got up by a few goals in the end but the Hounds were pretty competitive so should be in the finals mix in Div 5 as they have some pretty handy players, was a good hit out & good to see them hang around for a few drinks after.

Fitzroy play Torrens Valley up there again next week which will be our last game before the season kicks off.

First trial is always hard to judge as a few key players missing & trialling new players/structures ect.
Most of our players only played 1/2 to 3/4 of a game over the 2 games but will be better for the run.

Bourke is a big loss as a midfielder who kick bags off 10 goals regularly from the centre is always hard to replace & only one other from last years A's that went with him but we have picked a few new players who look & should go alright once they settle in.

Next week will give us more of an indication of where we are at with A'/B's v Torrens Valley & the C's play Parahills on friday night so everyone will get more of a hit out.

No predictions just yet but numbers are now up at trainings i think 55 odd at last thursday night is funny how that happens when the trials begin...

was a good couple of trials roaring. early game was always going to be a tough one for us we dont have the strongest b grade side going around but they are all keen to have a crack and many haven't trained much.
the second game was good and our coaching group was pretty happy with the performance of our lads and was good to see the new guys play, they are fiiting in really well.
great club rooms and cold beer for a couple before heading off.
well done to bob and dave nelson for organising the day.

Exactly. well we were missing Sam Skewes in the mid field which i see as a big lose cause we had no one who was will to dive in and get the hard ball whereas Skewes does this on a regular basis and also missing our main full forward Michael Mcneil who is a good player but didnt reach his full potential last year. Also many of the newer guys where played in mixed positions but towards the end of the game we started to work together a lot better

There was some niggle through out the game with one of their guys being sent off after a scuffle. The gound we played on was in excellent condition one of the better surfaces where going to play on this year i think.

They had a few A graders that didn't play and were running water. Ben Bamford, Wayne Nassardine played well through the middle and Adam Forth (I think his name is) played well up forward.

I believe the final margin was more like ten goals, but was a good hit out for both teams,North Haven will be more competitive this year compared to last year, and thanks to all the haven lads who came into the club for a few beers.

Yeah cheers mate
