SMOSH easily beat the Cats. 6 gls plus win i think it was.

Modbury won well on their own sh*t heap. Would be the worst surface in SA but they seem happy to wallow in that mud season after season.

Div 3 sides will have it next year to play on so good luck!

have to admit that modbury's oval is crap but thought it wasn;t to bad on sat given the weather we have had. [ have seen it at lot,lot worse many times ] GX were outplayed . outcoached by a side which came to play wet weather footy as opposed to a side that just turned up to " get the points".
still a crap oval in the wet and the changerooms must be heritage listed cos they have not changed in 40+ years

The oval, yes has terrible drainage which I believe council is now on board with fixing (they have pumped numerous millions into GG and TTG so hopefully it’s our turn now). We did all we could over the last 2 weeks to help the oval recover from the bad weather a fortnight ago. We cancelled a week of trainings, meaning our 19 juniors sides didn’t train at all for one week and only trained once the following week, all juniors played away last weekend, the C and D grade had home games at TTG and the senior sides had reduced training times for the past 2 weeks. To say we are happy to wollow in the mud smacks of arrogance, which does surprise me from a Gepps Cross person after Saturday. The oval on Saturday as Old Moz said wasn’t even that bad, the middle was almost 2 hard before the second half rain.

I was waiting for a post like this after the Gepps Cross coaching staff and supporters (not A grade players who were embarrassed by what they were saying) behaviour on Saturday after the game. They say winners are grinners and losers can please themselves, well the losers on Saturday chose to abuse the MFC players as they walked from the ground, to punch the side of the coaches box, throw an empty beer can at the players as they walked from the ground and throw things on the changeroom roof as they left. Sometimes supporters can say a few things out of order, we are no angels but for the coaching box to do what they did and the trowing of things was a disgrace.

Anyway, it was a good win for boys 3 wins in 5 games. :partyman: Good to see them get some reward, they have stuck together in a tough year!

The rumour mill has it when the maths was done it was a case of ......no finals.....no need to no pay...... Might need you to check the Contracts......... It may make "Pay for Play" recruits think twice about the Cats in the future...... interestingly enough heard that Heintz and Sadler were seen at Gaza on Saturday....(unconfirmed)

I expect this unfounded tripe from TBS but give me a breal Cohiba. Unlike other clubs (like the one the former is involved in) we honour our contracts. Heintz and Sadler are both injured and haven't played for a couple of weeks. Blake Wegener played Saturday. Hopefully Heintz will be back on the park over the next 2 weeks but I think Sadler's ankle is more serious.

Heintz was at the game 2 weeks ago - hard to miss the bloke when he wanders across the oval

Settle down you lot...I used words like rumour mill, may and unconfirmed.....I made no accusation nor validated any statement . This being a forum I was interested to see if there was any substance to what I had heard. Appreciate that tripe aplenty can be found on these pages but let's not go protesting too loudly just because of post based on curiosity.... that said I take your point.....all is kosher at the Cattery........ Good luck next week....

We've been able to track down about 6-7 surviving members of this team. 2 of them come to past players day every year.

Totally different on the hill on Saturday FS. Having a good chat to some lovely Gepps people, took a bit to get them out of their cars due to wind and rain, but the close finish eventually did the job.

Not saying there arent nice Gepps people BF just the ones involved in the spray at the players after the game didnt represent their club well IMO and i would have been bitterly dissapointed if our people had done the same

Turbs a few supporters have been spoken to recently regarding abuse, particulalry towards the umpires as I think it may have been the game against your lot it got really really bad.... I think its been much better since!

Like is said, supporters will step out of line from time to time and we are definately no angels, but the coaches box abuse after the game wasnt great.

Anyway more important things to talk about - like footy

Ok so a massive game for Modbury this week?? A win will see a few nervous sides. Both kilburn and Walkies on the brink of going down. Its been a very close year. Dont think many would have tipped Portland, Smosh and PAOC to be fighting for the double chance?
We're in hell right now gentlemen. Believe me. And we can stay here, get the shit kicked out of us, or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb outta hell... one inch at a time.

Every game is massive this week.

Kilburn v PAOC - relegation issues for the Chics and double chance on the line for PAOC
Portland V Mod - home final almost theirs if Portland win, Mod still a chance to stay in Div 2 if they win the last 2 games
Walkies v PD - relegation issues for the Cats, top spot done and dusted for PD though
FP v SHOC - spot in the finals on the line for FP, SHOC could still be relegated (although unlikely to happen)
Gepps v SMOSH - Gepps win and they are still a chance for 5th spot, SMOSH looking to grab the double chance.

Bolded teams for the win ;)

We wont be taking Modbury lightly this weekend, we only just beat them by under a kick first time around at there track and they didnt look like a side that should be in the relegation zone, they seem to play there best footy in the wet and it is expected to rain this weekend. Schimma you guys would be hoping Modbury beat as much as we hope Gepps stitch you up, i was very impressed with Gepps a couple of weeks ago when they beat us on there home deck, if both sides get a win this week will make for a very interesting last game of the year for the home final.

Weather should be decent this weekend with no winds and only a chance of rain which changes things alot for some of these sides.
Sides like PAOC, Portland and SMOSH will be able to display there skills and running ability, and sided like Modbury and Kilburn who are more in close teams will feel the pinch I feel. Just an opinion.

Can anyone from Kilburn tell me what's happened to Craig Schapel? I've noticed that he hasn't played for a bit......injured?
