$2 vodka rasperry's at the Mars Bar on a Friday night is pretty important. Gatt Weasel if you think SMOSH are even close to a top team then you are incredibly delusional. Their midfield was very chatty in the first quarter, talking garbage and saying how good they were. By the end of the second quarter they could barely even speak due to chasing the Kilburn players so much.

Looks like someone needs to go and have a look at the ladder. I wouldn't right off smosh just yet they have great depth and wouldn't be worried if they got a couple of injuries. There is a couple of sides that are sitting in the top 5 that have no depth that could be in big trouble come finals

Didn't know the Mars Bar had $2 Voddys! See you boys there Friday night!

Will be interesting to see the ladder after this round with SMOSH and Seaton both facing difficult opponents. In my opinion Kickinit, SMOSH are not a top calibre team. Had a very tall (and slow) forward line, some quality in the middle and a solid back six but they appear to run out of legs very quickly. Hopefully injuries do not play part in the finals then ;)

Think we had a few crucial outs over the weekend. 1 inclusion makes us a 15 goal better side IMO ;)

She's all tightening up at the top of the ladders thats for sure. Will get a rundown tongiht, but from teh accounts I've had so far Kilburn are well and truly the side to beat. No doubt that top spot is still up for grabs between three sides, and its Kilburns Flag to lose given the way they've played for 10 weeks - credit to them.

Salisbury this week, who look like they're playing some good footy. Will have to be at the top of our agme to get over them.

Just to put the sh!t to end on Kilburn paying players obviously they do..... But the recruits have gone for the bare minimum i can honestly say that. Brading, Molynuex and whoever else have all gone to kilburn to go play with gailbraith and williams and the parks boys as a few years ago once they had done what they needed to, they made a pact to play with each other in the same team.

Onto this weeks game at Mitcham, Seaton always have struggled there with some smashings inbetween so at this stage of time for me Mitcham would start as a favourites.

Watched a great game yesterday at Blair Atol Reserve. PNU holding a 5 goal lead in the second looked like they were going to be the ones to derail the chicka train :D until things clicked in the middle and Kilburn hit there straps and swung the momentum :( . The Falcons got within 16 or 17 points in the last with a Paul Lowe goal and then PNU missed 4 very gettable shots which would cost them any chance at mounting a last quarter fightback. Kilburn to good on the day in front of well over 500 people. Great crowd, great atmosphere and a great day if you love Grassroots football. A lot of strong contests.
3 guys stood out for me on the day....
Chuck Molyneaux - his work at there clearances was outstanding and his side step and delivery are worth going and checking out. Easily the standout on baller and we simply couldnt curtail his influence.
Mark McCallum - Towelled up 3 opponents to kick 9. Had some quality delivery but his lead is exceptionally quick and his leap to take the ball at its highest point makes him look at times unstoppable.
Nick "The Situation" Jolly - as PNUs sole focal point with Burkhardt and Watkins missing his game was phenomenal. Kicked 5.5 with one OOF and one into the man on the mark, gave off 3 and took 7 or 8 marks outside the forward 50 to emphatically respond to the criticism labelled on him by David Green on Saturday Gameday that morning.

Massive trend on these forums is to bag the umpires and there was a fair bit of that going on througout the game from both passionate supporter groups but in analytical fairness i thought Smiddy and i dont know the other guys name were pretty good and certainly fair =D> . I get embarrassed by some of the rubbish i hear directed at the umpires and seemingly intellectual people can become mental midgets with a can in their hand on a Saturday arvo  .

Finally i must say i was very dissapointed for the first 3 quarters at Shrek not playing until i saw him get a touch in the last quarter amd i made the stunning revelation that he may have been there the whole time but just isnt all that good  . If i was Jamie Thomas id probably make a straight swop and promote Dale Agius from the Magoos and give our learned friend a spell in the magoos. But winners are grinners so over to you Shrek for what im certain will be some sparkling repartee and cutting edge witt in your rebuttal.

Probably didn't see me because I didn't play on Jolly till the last quarter. You were to busy watching your man crush to look anywhere else.

We missed a lot of shots too at the start and the game really showed the importance of straight kicking. Jolly had a sensational first quarter but his influence, although still good, waned after that.

PNU are definitely big challengers for the flag. Sensational first half but couldn't keep that standard the whole day.

I can see Payneham beating SMOSH this week & giving Seaton top spot
Kilburn v SMOSH in the Qualifying Final
Payenham v Mitcham in the Elimination
Seaton v Kilburn in the 2nd Semi
SMOSH v Payenham in the 1st Semi
Seaton v Payenham in the Preliminary
Kilburn v Payenham in the Grand Final.
Kilburn = Premiers 2012

Well they are gonna have to do a Kilburn circa 2011 and come via the elimination final. I agree with your straight kicking point. Scoreboard pressure changes everything and i still felt the boys had a sniff late but i think it was actually five shots from 25-40m out on various angles and we failed to capatalize. The ball goes up the other end and i think it was Howson that made us pay and then the heads dropped and it was all over.
Now i guess you,ll be barracking for us this week so you can get a home final in front of what would be a huge crowd no doubt. Should be another good contest and SMOSH will be fairly confident coming off a 25 goal win.

Well i LOVE it. Obviously a premiership would be perfect but promotion after two years of relegation would be good reward for all the loyal blokes we have at the club.
Interesting to see you have the Lions dropping their last 3 after last weeks pantsing of the Dolphins. I have only seen them train this year and havent actually seen them play but they looked fit and sharp and with their depth surely must fancy their chances at promotion. Im assuming you would have seen them first hand NM as i know you get out to quite a few games. Is there any particular reason why you anticipate another major round fade out??

NM has set out what should happen if the favourite wins each week. It's unusual that the two favourites come from 3rd and 4th on the ladder after round 17, but that's the way it is.

What would also be unusual is a finals round without upsets. I thought Mitcham were hopeless and had no chance, but they almost knocked off Seaton whom I rate.

In reality any of the top four are a realistic chance but if I was to tip the outcome of the next 5 weeks it would be exactly the same as NM.

I'm not sure of SMOSH to be honest, i've seen a few of their games & what i've seen is 2 losses & 1 win.
I can see them going out in straight sets unfortunately as i rate Kilburn & Payenham.
Seaton will be hard to beat at home with a guaranteed 2 home games if they finish top but with 2 close wins recently against Mitcham & Salisbury, on form i'd doubt whether they can match the class of the 2 teams i rate.
Seaton have other ideas though, speaking to a couple down there they think they can finish top & have what it takes to take care of Kilburn.
I'll believe that when i see it!

I'd still fancy SMOSH and Kilburn as the two top teams likely to face off in the GF but no doubt Seaton and PNU will have other ideas. On the matter of finals, what the hell has happened to Athelstone?!?!? Injuries/form/other? A few weeks ago many on here were talking of them being a top 3 contender...

Correct injuries and form. Lost a bit of pace in their midfield and couldnt really cover it. The shock loss to Salisbury about 4 weeks ago derailed their whole season.

Gee, we have fallen out of favour with the Pundits pretty quickly.

Hopefully we can prove some doubters wrong this week with a win at PNU. Obviously our msot important game of the year - win and finish top. Lose and probably drop to third on percentage. Plenty at Stake!

Quick one on CBC. I've always thought reasonably highly of them as a club and a bunch of blokes. Hence was shaking my head at the way some of their players carried on in the second half. There's not much point starting fights when your 15 goals down, especially when its some of your better players doing it. Disappointing for the guys who've worked hard to get that club where they are.
