But yes, we have been savaged by injury/work this week - A.May (broken ribs), J.David (back), A.Hay (working), S.Logan (strained driver), C.Sumner (broken leg), S.Lindholm (arm), J.Arkana (ankle), J.Arezina (ankle) and R.Wyld (hamstring) plus a few other fringe players have meant quite a few are playing A grade that probably aren't ready or don't deserve to - including me.

We were right up against it to beat Modbury this week before all these injuries, now we are really battling. If I was a betting man.... ;)

I have my spies ;) ....not really just checked the SAAFL website :D

Sass what grade is little Fogden playing this year? That kid has talent.

Foggy was in line to play A grade i would have thought. He played a cracker trial against TTG in the 2s and developed massively since last season, he got a massive corky in the last couple of minutes and didnt come up for this week. Another MFC Junior coming through the ranks.

He is MFC through and through mate. He is 16, we have a large amount of talent at the club between the ages of 16 - 20, all wanting to learn and improve. Majorty didnt miss a pre season training since November. The Age of our A grade and the quality of the age is testiment to a strong junior system.

Yeah not too bad still a couple away from full strength due to work, injury etc but we're as strong as we can be tomorrow. Our B grade is the best i've seen in years and should do very well in a comp usually dominated by the D grade teams. I was shocked yet pleased we were able to fill 3 sides last night and still have players left over.

In fact good luck to everyone. Heres hoping for a fun, relatively injury and drama free year.

Rushed straight back into the A grade I see Morell for your return...good luck mate!

Well i think all clubs are in the same vote come round 1 i know the crabs are missing some players due to injuries, birthdays, cricket trips etc. but it's footy and we all move on and use what we have available

Some pretty odd results today!

Mawson Lakes 26.12 168 def Flinders University 0.5 5
Modbury 4.5 29 def by Mitchell Park 29.11 185
Athelstone 2.9 21 def by Sacred Heart OC 30.18 198
North Pines 11.6 72 def by Tea Tree Gully 13.11 89

Thanks to the Modbury FC for a good hit out today. The game was played in good spirits.

To be fair we don't really know the quality of North Pines, TTG or Angle Vale yet...

I know Modbury had quite a few out and you can never tell with C/D grade teams, Tarzan one week, Jane the next.

Div7 Reserve results

Postby 250+ » Mon Apr 04, 2011 2:33 pm

What happened in the TTG vs North Pines reserve games? Yesterdays paper and iScore both show a 0.0 draw. iScore also only shows TTG naming 17 players? Any news?

EDIT: Oops sorry moderators this was meant to go in the Div7 Forum

Nice return for yourself Morell snagging a couple sausage rolls...who said you guys would struggle this week? ;) Your odds would have dropped considerably after this game.

I wouldn't read too much into our result Flinders Uni were missing a hell of a lot of players who they should be getting back in the coming weeks, they will improve as the year goes along. SHOC to me has made the comp sit up and take notice...if the likes of Dave Floreani, Zain Prince and Chris Catalano play C grade all year I think they are the team to beat!

I only played a quarter and half, sat on the bench until half way through the third! So the heat was well and truly out of the game by then but I was pretty happy to get on the end of a few and kick 4 goals

As for our odds, nah, Modbury had a lot out. I did a quick player comparison of their C Grade side from last year and they had 3 playing A Grade and 4 playing B Grade on the weekend, that would be pretty much their 7 best players. We have about 7-8 out as well but only 2 or 3 from our top 10.

I agree that SHOC's score was impressive, I work with their new A Grade coach so I might have to go and have a bit of a gossip. Also agree with your earlier comment RE TTG. Looking at their side they have some impressive names and according to a friend of mine who used to play there Glen Mount is the best amateur footballer he has seen (albeit getting on a bit). Some of those guys were also rumoured to have left to play country footy but lined up on the weekend. Big threat. Which also means North Pines were more than admirable and will push some sides as well....

Add in Angle Vale and this div is a lot more even than the Round 1 scores suggest, even though there might be a couple of sides that will struggle.
