Surely it would be better to split the umpires so that two matches had one umpire and the home club supply one if numbers are struggling as whilst it is always difficult to find a boundary umpire it is alot more difficult for an away team to find one. Perhaps EM or Jimmy can explain, seems a no brainer.
Had a friend who watched the Seaton PNU game on Saturday and said that one of the field umpires went down with an "injury" at half time, and was replaced by another umpire who was,as told to the Teams, of SANFL quality. hence the ump was actually a B grade Seaton player who was completely bias to the Ramblers?!?
Now I've heard Many people complain on here about poor umpiring standards and protocol but surely this is a ridiculous decision and situation! Imagine if the game was close/finals!??
