I agree with Browny...it was good to have a run around and although it was a scratch match it was still great to have the coaches throwing ideas out there and having the players give them a crack in a game situation to see the results.

As for the heat...it might have been 35oC during the day but by the time 6:30 rolled around a cool change had come through and the heat wasnt an issue just my very poor fitness...who would have thought three and a half weeks of eating pies and pizza would do that to you.

Spoke to some BL people today. Apparently the trial game was Payney's first real chance to have a look at some players.

Solly & hayesey were really good apparently as was the latest recruit and a bloke called Beau was good to.
Harsh but fair.....

Solly is a machine...his ability to win the taps but then to tap the ball down your throat or to your advantage is simply amazing....

Beau is looking more motivated then i think i have ever seen him...i think he is going to have a great year as far as his personal football goes.

im not 100% sure mate...but there has been a big influx of players to CLG in the past 3 yrs from marion/cove! Victor boys that work down in town all came to CLG to play 2getha.
Very young side struggled against bigger bodies...but see how they go this yr

I wouldnt count anything you saw Beau do last season.....if you saw Beau two seasons ago you would know that in the clear he is great but he can also go in there and get the ball himself.

I have a feeling that this season you will see a different Beau then we saw last season.

Not that I have ever seen this guy play, but why would this suddenly change?
I think players who love to go and get the hard ball always do that and they don't change, the
same can be said for the seagulls who wait to get the recieve....

Its all about attitude and heart...his attitude and heart didnt appear to be in it last year , for what ever reason this might be but it affected his football. Watching him on the training track late last year and so far this year I can see a massive turn around in his attitude already.

Add West Croydon to that list, but then I guess it would be the "4" teams to beat!!
