Played Walkerville. We got up by 3 goals not really much to say as both teams had many players out. Just good to get through the first game with no casulties.

[quote="LMA"]Is there a connection with pearce and lucindale or just coincidence? districts had 3 players from there last year, good blokes, not sure where they're playin this year I can't recall their names in the clearances

I believe they are on their way to clare.

Have to agree with others and question why portland would bother playing these players? Giving people a big misperception as to where their at I think. hehe fire up portland boys cmon

I have it on very good authority that FP Have put in for further exemption on transferrable players. Can anyone else shed light on this? For no other reason apart from curiosity ;)

SAAFL made it quite clear to the clubs last week that the APPS points variation window had closed very hard and there would be no more.

Flinders Park were allowed the exemption initially as they had supposedly recruited before the vote was taken on whether to adopt the APPS for 2011. They can't use that excuse again and as they were already over, I'd think there is absolutely no hope......and would be very surprised they would even think of asking for more.

I didnt want to go any further as it would show who told me. It has been said that they will play these guys lower and promised the leafgue they would not play a senior game before the end of round 9. I didnt think this would work as they would need 25 or something? This would allow games under their belt etc. Im not 100% on how this would work but the source is good

That's pretty rich considering it was Flinders Park that pushed the 3-2 points system at the AGM.

Sounds like that's come back and bitten a huge chunk out of their behinds.
Don't play games with a girl who can play 'em better...

Played scotch on sat had 28 players in the magoos 70% were c grade/ d grade very ordinary second half and went down by a goal after resting 8 b grade players in the second half and some going up to play in the second game.
The a's had 10 out from last trial and in total 12 and had b and c grade sitting on the bench. Fantastic last qtr and got up by 3 goals. Scotch were pretty gd ran the ball well. Still got abit to do come rnd 1.

How was the new blonde Ruckman for Scotch?

Piccachu, I Went and had a look at the Flinders Park v Old Ignatious trial mate

Was a pretty solid hitout, with just about all FP's new recruits playing. All of them looked good, and FP got over the line reasonably comfortably. Old Igs had a few out i'm lead to believe so wouldn't read too much into their form. Their backline were a bit light on without Pedler, and the FP forwards dominated all game.

Not sure whats goin on with the extra points business, but i'm not sure why they would need them either. There has only been 5 players recruited, and two of those are juniors, so as far as points go i'd think they are under anyway.

Obviously Christie and O'Hara are good players, but three new players and two returning juniors is hardly buying a premiership i wouldn't have thought. Eitherway, they looked very sharp, and had a couple of players missing.

On a bit of a sidenote, I was speaking to a few boys after, and they seem to be very impressed with Portland. Said they really play as a team, and seem to be very well organised. think it will be a very good contest between the two sides this year, really looking forward to it.

Not sure FS as I wasn't there. Nice to know you're so concerned about our club as yours goes backwards ;)
I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.

Anybody get to the Flinders game over the weekend, what were there thought

then why play these guys at all then.....................seems like your contradicting yourself here................. dont need them but we will play them anyway :? :?
